3 years later

Nicolo's POV

Shoot, shoot, shoot. I completely forgot it was Bella and I's 3 year anniversary and I haven't gotten her a present. We planned to meet behind the waterfall and have a romantic time like every year, and every year, I would make up for forgetting a present with an orgasm—or multiple.

My hands grip the steering wheel with white knuckles as I speed 30 over the limit to a store.

As I speed walk in and grab a few makeup things like the weird massager Bella uses when she's doing her nightly skin care routine, and the weird jello she puts under her eyes and over her lips. In all honesty, I'd probably eat those.

I tap my foot against the tiled floor as I wait for the cashier to scan the items and get a text from Bella.

My Bellissima😘
You didn't forget did you, Nicolo? You know you forget every single year

Uh oh

Me
Of course not, bellissima

My Bellissima😘
I can tell you're lying through the screen

Me
How?
Oh

My Bellissima😘
Yea, that's what I thought. But also, look at the exit

I don't finish reading the text before quickly scanning my eyes around for the beautiful brunette I call my wife.

Her progress was incredible. After 6 and a half months of physical therapy, she was finally able to take her first steps since the incident. It was like watching your toddler taker their first steps, exhilarating and yet scary because you know they're growing up.

About a year after Bella's accomplishment, my friends and I were able to locate and track down Mikayla. I didn't tell Bella, but, we all had a fun time torturing her for what she'd done to their friend and my then girlfriend.

Now we can live in peace, with the occasional disturbance, but the boys and I always take care of that.

I stare at her as she walks towards me, her perfectly shaped hips swaying.

Once she gets to me, she grabs my tie and pulls me down to her level so she's able to kiss me. I immediately respond and wrap my arms around her waist, my hands slightly touching the curve of her bottom.

Suddenly, someone clears their throat. We both look up at the cashier who's awkwardly staring at us and then the bag with the things I bought.

Bella's eyes widen in embarrassment and her face starts turning red from the tips of her ears down to well past her neck.

"Thank you," I take the bag from her hands.

"Have a good rest of your day." She says, almost robotically.

"Thank you, you too," Bella quickly waves and grabs my hand to speed walk to my car.

"Oh my gosh, that was so embarrassing." Bella puts her hands on her cheeks and looks up at me.

All I can think is how adorable she is. How adorable she acts when she's embarrassed.

I put the bag on top of my Lamborghini and gently wrap my large hands around her wrists, pulling them away from her red face.

"No it wasn't, it was a happily married couple expressing their love to each other."

"Yeah, but if you really loved me, you would've remembered our anniversary." She turns away from me with her arms crossed.

"Look baby, I'm sorry I forgot, but you know how the business is. It's been kind of hectic lately, and not to mention the boys who want to go to the club every night." I turn her around and rest one hand on her waist and the other on her cheek, gently rubbing my thumb back and forth.

"You always use that excuse though. What if you're cheating on me?"

My head bends down as I chuckle.

"Why are you laughing?" Her voice wavers and I immediately look up, noticing tears forming in her honey brown eyes.

"No, no no no, Bella, I didn't mean to make you cry." I use the tough pad of my thumb to wipe away a tear that I'm sure she's upset escaped.

"Then why are you laughing?"

"I just think it's silly you could ever think I'd find anyone else attractive when I'm married to the love of my life. I've loved you since we met at 6 years old. And I waited 8 to have you back here. And then another 4 to marry you," i tilt my head, looking deeply into her eyes, "don't you think you've made me wait long enough?"

"No," she tries to hide her smile but fails and I wrap her in a hug.

"That's what I thought. I love you, bellissima." I rest my head on hers and smile.

"I love you more," she says as she stuffs her face into my chest, her response muffled.

"Now come on, let's get to the waterfall." I lead her to the passenger seat and open the door while my other hand holds hers. Once she's in, I buckle her seat belt and jog over to the drivers seat. Once I start my car, I put my hand on her thigh and squeeze it, loving the feeling of her in my hands.
