Vihaan's POV:
The engagement party was in full swing, with friends and family gathered to celebrate Yash Bhai's special day. Yash bhai and Aadi Bhabhi, decided to add a unique twist to the festivities. They took the stage together, their smiles lighting up the room. Aadi Bhabhi spoke first, her voice filled with enthusiasm, "Good evening people! I am your bride and host for the evening." "And I am her co-host and the groom."
"Aaj humein thoda sa mazaa karne ka mann hai, kya aap sab tayyar hain?" (Today, we're in the mood for some fun, are you all ready?)
The crowd erupted in cheers and applause, eager to join in the excitement. Yash Bhai continued, "Toh humne socha, kyun na ek bride family versus groom family face-off karein?" (So we thought, why not have a bride family versus groom family face-off?)
The crowd cheered in approval. "That's right! And to kick things off, we have a special face-off between our fathers. A karaoke battle!"
Laughter erupted from the guests, and Papa and Aadi Bhabhi's father, Varun Uncle, exchanged playful glances.
Varun Uncle took the mike and said "Challenge accepted! Let's see who can sing their heart out better!"
Papa took the other microphone, and they both launched into a lively duet. The room was filled with music, laughter, and applause as the two fathers sang their hearts out, competing in the most entertaining way possible.
As their performance came to an end, the crowd erupted into cheers, and Bhai and Bhabhi exchanged a triumphant glance.
The karaoke face-off between our fathers had left the room in splits, and the engagement party was buzzing with energy. As the night wore on, we decided to play a series of random games. Laughter and cheers filled the air as we competed in various challenges, but by the end, there was a deadlock between the bride's family and the groom's family.
Aadi Bhabhi, with her infectious enthusiasm, proposed the perfect tiebreaker, "Ab samay aaya hai aakhri muqabla ka – dance-off!" (Now it's time for the final showdown – a dance-off!).
The room erupted in cheers as everyone gathered on the dance floor. Aadi Bhabhi explained the rules, "Dono families ek representative bhejega, aur DJ random gaane bajayega. Unko dance-off me hissa lena hoga." (Each family will send one person, and the DJ will play random songs. They'll have to participate in the dance-off.)
Yash Bhai and I exchanged determined glances, and then we both nodded in agreement.
My heart raced as I was the chosen representative from the groom's side, while the bride's family huddled together to make their selection.
Yash Bhai whispered in my ear, "Vihaan, tum hamare parivaar ka izzat bachao!" (Vihaan, save our family's honor!)
I chuckled and replied, "Aap chinta mat kijiye, Bhai. Main hoon na!" (Don't worry, Aadi Bhabhi. I'm ready!)
I couldn't help but feel a mix of nervousness and excitement. The bride's family was about to reveal their representative, and I held my breath as they made their choice. To my complete surprise and disbelief, they announced, "Hamari taraf se humari pathaka Anchal!" (From our side, our firecracker, Anchal!)
My heart skipped a beat, and I couldn't believe my ears. Anchal, the girl I secretly had a crush on, was going to be my dance partner on the stage. She walked towards me with a radiant smile, and I stammered out a greeting, "H-Hi, Anchal." "Wow did the great Vihaan Agarwal just stutter" mocked my subconscious.
She laughed warmly, "Hi, Vihaan. Let's make this dance-off epic!"
("Imaging it is just the two of them dancing. It is just a reference")
As the music started, Anchal and I unleashed a whirlwind of energy and moved on the dance floor. Our chemistry was electric, and we matched each other step by step. The crowd cheered us on, and the dance-off between us became the highlight of the night.
The DJ played song after song, and Anchal and I danced like there was no tomorrow. It was a mesmerizing display of skill and passion, and we both pushed ourselves to the limit. When the final notes of the last song faded away, we ended our performance with a dramatic flourish.
The room erupted in applause and cheers. Aadi Bhabhi and Yash, along with our families, rushed onto the stage to join us. We all danced together, celebrating the union of our families and the love that had brought us together that night.
It was an amazing and unforgettable night, filled with laughter, love, and the thrill of unexpected connections. As the music played on, I couldn't have asked for a better way to celebrate my brother's engagement, and I was grateful to have shared that incredible dance-off moment with Anchal.
Anchal POV:
The night was absolutely amazing, filled with laughter, music, and the warm glow of family. All of us were having lots of fun dancing. As the night progressed, Aadhya di approached me, her eyes shimmering with excitement.
"Anch mujhe Yash ke saath drive pe jana hai. Can you please manage it with mumma and papa?" ("Anch I want to go on a drive with Yash")
"Of course, di mai sab kuch dekh lungi don't worry." ("Of course, I'll take care of it don't worry")
I walk up to Kriti and say "Cookie could you please drop Jay and Tanish home"
"Okay!"
Then I walk up to Jay and Tanish and say "Guys cookie is going to drop you home, me and Aadi Di will come a little late."
Lastly, I walk up to Papa and sigh.
"Kya hua bacha?" ("What happened kiddo?") Papa asked
"Kuch nai papa, bas di ki shadi ho jayegi and we haven't spent quality time together in a long time." ("It's nothing serious, Di is going to get married soon and we haven't spent quality time together in a long time.")
"Well princess why don't you guys do something together?" Papa said.
"Yessss we could go on a drive tonight. Can we papa? Please" I exclaimed.
"Sure princess".
Well, it appears that my strategy was successful. "Yeah, thank goodness it worked, or I would have assumed you weren't a good businesswoman" mocked my subconscious.
I couldn't contain my excitement as I approached my sister, Aadhya Di, with the news. I whispered, "Di, ho gaya kaam! Papa ne kaha ki hum dono drive pe ja sakte hai, So I'll just wait in a cafe for you. Tu Jij ke saath ja drive pe." (Di, it worked! Dad said you can go on the drive with me. So, I'll just wait in a cafe for you. And you can go with Jij on the drive).
Di's eyes lit up with joy, and she gave me a tight hug. "Thank you, Anchal! Tu sach mein best sister hai! (You're truly the best sister!)"
She then rushed over to Yash and said, "Yash, achhi khabar hai! Papa said okay to the drive but he thinks mai Anchal ke saath ja rahi hu. But, she will be waiting in a cafe for us. Baad mai hum dono ghar jayenge." ("Yash, good news! papa said okay for the dive but he thinks I'm going with Anchal. But she will be waiting for us in a cafe so that we can go home together.")
Yash Jij smiled warmly and said, "Bahut acha hai, Aadhya. Lekin chalo, main Vihaan se keh deta hoon ki woh Anchal ke saath jaye, taki usko ko company mile. Kaisa rahega?" (That's great, Aadhya. I'll ask Vihaan to go with Anchal and keep her company. What do you think?")
Di and I exchanged delighted glances, and she agreed, "Perfect! We will leave once everyone leaves to go home."
Happy Ganesh Chaturthi!!✨✨
