Y/n's pov-

I sat with the rest of my intern year minus Meredith as George talked about what happened for the tenth time.

"For fuck sake, grow a pair." I finally snapped and slammed my food tray down. "You are not the victim! You were sober she was not, she was upset and vulnerable and you took advantage."

I bit my tongue before I said anything I would regret and walked off.

"Did you mean that?" Meredith asked as she pulled me into a storage room.

We hadn't talked properly in a few weeks after I admitted how I felt about her and she turned me down. 

"Of course, he took advantage and in my eyes it's as bad as rape." I smiled before quickly trying to find a way to excuse myself from the situation. "Actually it is rape in my eyes."

"Thank you for not hating me after I turned you down." She said making me just want out of there even more.

"I've got to go- I have to check on my patient before I meet up with someone."

"Another date?" She asked like she was mad or something.

"Yes, now I'll see you later Mer. If you need anything just message me okay." I patted her shoulder before running off to do my job.

"Y/n!" Meredith called as she ran over to me as I was about to leave with my data, jasmine.

"Do you mind if I talk to her quickly before we leave?" I asked her as we both stopped at the sound of my name.

"Of course it might be about work and I know that's important." She smiled and squeezed my hand.

She's a resident at mercy west so she understands.

"What's up Mer?" I asked as the blonde finally reached us, she looked like she was going to cry.

"I can't go home, everyone is so mad at me and saying that I took advantage of George and Derek called me a whore." She started to cry.

"Here stay at mine, I'll stay at a hotel tonight and then I'll help you sort it tommorow." I sighed and gave her my apartment keys. "Night Mer."

"Ready to go?" Jasmine asked as she looked at Meredith confused.

"Yeah, let's go." I smiled and let her lead me out, quickly throwing a glance back at Meredith who had tears rolling down her face.

I felt bad for leaving her but I've got to get pass my feelings and if I leave a date for her I never will.

"You love that blonde woman from the hospital don't you?" Jasmine asked as she pulled up at the hotel I was staying at for the night so Meredith could relax at mine.

"Yeah- I'm so sorry but I promise I'm trying to get over her because she's straight but I understand if you don't want to go on another date."

"She likes you, y/n. It's so clear, she looked so hurt when you left with me, she really does so I think you should try with her and if it doesn't work out and I'm still single I'll be expecting a call."

"Thank you jasmine, I had a lovely time and I'm so sorry." I smiled and went to get out the car but she stopped me.

"Nope, I'm driving you home so you can try with this woman." She laughed and passed me her phone to put my address in. 

"Are you sure?" This must be so weird for her.

"You guys deserve to be happy, if I had a chance at love like you do I would want my date to do the same." She joked and took the phone back once my address was in.

"Y/n?" Meredith asked as she opened my door for me.

"Okay so I had this weird but good date and we talked and she asked if I was in love with you and I told her the truth and she said you felt the same way and she could tell so please don't tell me she was wrong and I just made a total fool of myself while you are really hurting." I sighed and looked at her as she just stared at me. "Please tell me you aren't drunk and I just done a George."

"I'm sober as hell." She smiled and just looked at me making me feel shy after my confession.

"I'm pretty sure that hell is not sober with all the gays down there." I joked making her laugh.

"Your still in love with me?" She asked as I moved us into our my apartment so I'm not stood in my hallway anymore.

"Yeah, and I'm sorry for throwing this at you while you are hurting."

"I like you, I'm not in love with you right now but I can see myself loving you. I was hurt when I saw you leaving with her, more hurt when I was when Addison turned up." She smiled and wrapped her arms around my neck. "I like you and I want to be with you."

"I want to be with you too Meredith but you are hurting right now so I will wait for you." I smiled and pulled away before anything happened. "Want to watch a movie and binge eat my secret stash of snacks."

"That sounds amazing."

"Y/n." Meredith whines as I was making us dinner.

It's been three months since we both confessed her feelings.

The best three months of my life, she asked me to be her girlfriend two weeks ago and we spend all our time out of work together.

"Yes Mer?" I laughed as I got her to try the pasta sauce I was making.

"I love you." She said as she trapped me between her legs.

"I love you too, so much baby." I smiled and kissed her head gently.

This was the first time she had ever said it and I am so happy.

"But as much as I love you, you have to let me free before our dinner burns." I giggle and try to escape but she won't let me.

"I don't want to, let it burn and we can have pizza." She smiled and kissed me.

"No, we had pizza last night." I finally got free and started to finish dinner.

"Pizza is life." She smiled but got up and grabbed the plates.

"Only an hour ago you were saying sex is life so what one is it? Pizza or sex."

"Can it be both?"

"I would say no but I love you so if you want both you can have both tomorrow but tonight it is pasta and sex."  I giggled.
