Y/n's pov-

"Dr Montgomery?" Meredith the girl my sister's husband was in love with asked as she poked her head into the residents lounge where I was studying for boards in a few days.

I finished high school two years earlier than I should so I was only an year older than Meredith.

"Yes Dr grey?"

"I need a consult in the pit for a pregnant woman. Dr Montgomery Shepard is in surgery."

"Okay, let's go." I sighed as I got up and led Meredith to the electrical so we can go down to the pit. "So fill me in."

"Mrs peters came in in extreme pain, on further examination we have found that the baby has a tumor on the placenta." She read off her notes.

"How far along is she?" I asked trying to avoid eye contact.

"32 weeks."

"Alright, let's go." We walked into the pit and I walked towards a pregnant woman. "Mrs peters, how are you today?"

"I could be better." She groaned in pain holding her stomach.

"I'm just going to do a quick ultrasound  to check on the baby, is that okay?"

She quickly nodded and I got to work on the ultrasound.

"Grey, I want you to book an or and ten go and tell Addison that I will be waiting for her." I told the intern and watched her leave before turning back to Mrs peters. "Your baby has a tumour on the placenta affecting you and the baby, so we have to get her out of there before you and her are serious danger so I'm gonna need you to give consent to the surgery so we can take you up to the or."

"My baby will be okay?" She asked as she looked down at her bump.

"Your baby will be okay if we get her out now."

"Then do it!" She nodded and quickly signed the consent forms as nurse was offering her. "Save my baby."

I rushed her up to pre-op and then to the or.

Where I ended up doing the surgery myself as Addie wasn't able to get out of surgery in time.

"She wouldn't let me join her in the surgery!" I heard Meredith complain when I was walking past the tunnel. "I'm the one who caught it, it was my patient!"

"Who?" Cristina asked clearly not listening.

"Mcsexy! She hates me, all because I made a mistake of dating her sister's husband and I regret it a lot."

I laughed to myself quietly before walking off, I don't hate her not at all but I can't like her because having feelings that I know she doesn't return kills me.

It kills me to know I don't have a chance with the blonde.

I can't let myself like her because she's still in love with derek, I see her looking at him with stupid love sick puppy eyes when Addison forces me to have lunch with them both.
