Description- Y/n and Cristina are both cardio fellows and are dating and when teddie comes back to Seattle they both decide that they wanted her to join the relationship but while they were getting to know each other Cristina and y/n are struggling to let her in fully.

Y/n's pov-

I was looking over a case when Cristina came in and sat in the chair across from me, putting her legs in my lap.

"Fuck off Cristina." I laughed but didn't bother to push her legs off me.

"Love you too babe." She laughed and lightly tapped me with her foot.

"How was surgery with Teddie?" I asked as I flipped over the case file again.

"It was great, she worked on the lungs while I worked on the heart. Kinda wished you were there but sadly there is only two parts of the body to work on." Cristina said as she stole my file off me.

"Hey! I wish I was there to but I need to focus on this case so please give me the file back." I giggled as she read over the file.

"What do you need to focus on you've done this surgery a million times." She said as she handed me the file back.

"Yeah but not on a baby born two weeks ago." I sigh as I rub her leg gently.

"Teddie asked if we could go out for drinks tonight to celebrate our one month all together but I could say you've got a hard case. I know you like to have movie nights after working on kids." Cristina said as she kissed my head.

She's talking about how I hate seeing people after I work on kids because it reminds me on how my son was born with a heart defect and died the same day he was born while on the table.

I don't want kids ever again and I'm so grateful Cristina feels the same.

Well our son, she was there with me through my last month of pregnancy and my grief and around his first birthday I got so bad and sobbed saying that yes I didn't want kids and I still don't but I lost my son and it hurts and she held me and told me that Harlow is our son and yea it hurts but we will get through it together.

"No uh don't cancel invite her to join us." I sigh as I put the file down on the table and lightly push her feet off me and grabbed my scrub cap. "Invite her"

"Are you sure? She will probably ask questions about why you find kid surgeries hard. She will probably find out about our Harlow." She said as she rubbed my cheek gently.

"If we want her to be apart of our relationship she needs to see our ups and downs. You saw me when I was at my worst with my grief about Harlow and you accepted it and helped me move on. You took it in stride when people ask why we don't want kids you tell them that we have a son but he died when he was born. You took my son and made him your own and I love you for that but now it's our turn to let teddie have the choice you had."

"I know but Harlow is something I hate people knowing because they pity us. We don't need pitying because yes it was hard and it's sad but we love our life. Yes we lost our son but we celebrate his birthday every year." She sighed and held me close.

"Cristina, we need to let her in" I told her softly as I kissed her head gently. "I gotta go, I have my surgery. Invite her."

I got home to mine and Cristina's after my surgery and smiled when I saw teddy and Cristina making dinner.

"I thought I banned you from the kitchen after you set the oven on fire." I laugh as I kissed teddy gently before pulling cristina into a kiss and pulling her away from my oven.

"I was just watching." She replied with a laugh as she gave me a hug. "How did it go?"

"It went great, she's in recovery." I smiled.

"Why are you both so worried about a case you have both done a million times?" Teddie asked as she looked at us confused.

I looked at cristina.

Yes it was my son too but if she's not ready to tell teddie I'm not going to force her to tell her because I know it's hard for her to open up.

"We have a son and he died of a heart complication the day he was born so when there is a case with a new born we both find them hard." Cristina said as she held me tightly.

"You guys had a son?" The blonde asked as she turned the heat down low and turned to us.

"Have, we have a son but yes y/n got pregnant after a one night stand. We got together around her 8th month of pregnancy and when he was born his heart had a hole so they took him to surgery and he died. We celebrate his birthday every year and at Christmas we buy him a toy or teddy and put it on his grave." Cristina said as she squeezed my hand. "His name is Harlow and he is the only child we will ever have and we wanted to tell you because we don't want any other kids."

Teddie looked at us both with a confused look.

"That's why you always go quiet while you guys have kid cases?" She asked gently.

"Yeah, it's hard for us but we know we have to let you in if we want us to work." I said as I leaned against cristina and looked at teddie. "Remember the first case I had with you and I walked out of the mothers room as she held her daughter while she died. All I saw was me holding my son for the last before they rushed him off."

"I'm sorry, and I am here for you both however you guys need me." Teddie smiled as she pulled us both into a hug. "Dinner is going to be twenty minutes so y/n go get a shower and cristina go pick a movie."

"Yes boss." I laughed before going off to the bathroom to get a shower.

I walked out of our room to see cristina and teddie looking at the few pictures we have with Harlow.

They were currently looking at the photo of me, cristina and Harlow that we got as he was just about to go to surgery.

I looked like a mess in that photo but it is one of my favourites.

"I look a mess I had been in labour for ten hours before that photo and in surgery for 12 before then." I joked as I sat down next to them.

"You look beautiful and so does your guys son."teddy smiled as she kissed me lovingly.

"Where's dinner?" I asked gently as I took my locket off and handed it to her.

It had the only photo of cristina and Harlow on their own.

"I asked someone to watch it while I went to the toilet and she burnt it so we ordered pizza." Teddy laughed as she looked at the picture with a smile.

"This is why you are banned from my kitchen." I laughed and kissed cristina gently.
