"Heart to heart"

The three kids are lying on the ground, their checks are red for the big laughs they just had.

"You're so bad Zoro!" A little girl covers her face with her small hand as she pronounces these words.

"Shut up Kuina!" The boy grunts, a reaction that only makes the two girls laugh more.

"You literally fall on your feet" adds the other child, making fun of his friend.

The dark-haired girl, Kuina, laughs even more.

"You two are really dumb - Zoro, the boy, stands up - When I'm gonna be the greatest sword-man in the world, you will regret how you're treating me!"

"Kuina is going to become the greatest sword-man... I mean, sword woman in the world!" (Y/N) looks at the boy with confident eyes.

She's the calmest of the group and doesn't like violence.
She's never the first to start a fight but is surely an assertive and strong little girl.
This is why, even though she doesn't use any sword to combat with her friends, they respect her and admire her so much.
She doesn't need any weapons to be as cool as they are.

"Yes, (Y/N) is right" the girl with the black hair widely smile.

"Yeah!" (Y/n) is the youngest, and every time Kuina agrees with her she feels like she has the world under her feet.

She loves her so much, she's like a role model for her.
Well, except for all that "greatest sword woman in the word" part. But she admires her strength and knows she is a good fighter.
Unlike her father.
She's like a big sis to her.

(Y/n) sit straight to feel bigger and cockily shouts: "You heard that!"

Zoro doesn't even bother and snaps his fingers against the girl's forehead. (Y/N) whiny taking her hand on her head and suddenly lose her balance.
With a big "puff" she returns with her back to the ground.

"Zoro!" She massages her forehead.

Kuina and Zoro chuckle happily at her silliness. (Y/N) tries to appear offended but can't keep her laugh together.

"How dare you touch my dear, dear companion?" Kuina quickly stands up.

"Wanna fight?" Zoro playfully shows his fists.

"Always. YAH!" Kuina jumps on the boy.

The two children start "the big fight".
They are more like running away from each other, screaming, shouting, and laughing.
(Y/N) get up, too filled with joy to stay still on the ground.

"Go Kuina, go!" The little girl starts jumping as she cheers for her "big sis".

"Why you're always on her side?" Zoro stops chasing Kuina.

Slowly a smirk appears on his face.

"You don't think she's better than me, do you?" His smile becomes bigger and (Y/N) feels a rush of adrenaline run down her spine. Zoro starts running in her direction.

"AAAH" the little girl screams and runs away.

"Go away, go away!" She tries to run as fast as she can but is very difficult not to laugh or look at the ridiculous face that Zoro is making.

"Don't touch my companion!" Kuina follows her friends.

They run in the field, in the middle of the tall grass, hunt some bunnies, and make the birds fly away.

The sunlight warms up their sweaty faces, and their eyes are shining with joy and love for each other. They really are best friends.

"Zoro, Zoro look! I catch a bird! Look!"

"How did you even do that?! - the boy rushes straight to the girl - shit is really a bird!"

"Zoro, good babies don't say shit!" Kuina laughs.

She is the oldest of the group.

"Shut up Kuina. (Y/N) catches a bird!"

Zoro and (Y/N) lean closer to the little bird. It looks terrified, but the two can't take their eyes off of it. The animal is super fluffy and has little dark eyes. The kids observe it cheek to cheek. Heart to heart.

"It's the same color as you!" Y/n moves the little bird close to Zoro's head: both are bright green. Her eyes are glowing.

The boy blushes as soon as he notices the gaze of his friend on him.
He tries to stay cool but it's really hard to with (Y/N) looking at him like this, all curious and so closely.

"Don't be silly" Zoro moves the little girl's hand but suddenly the bird flies away from her fingers. Well, better say it falls on Zoro's head.

"Mh?" The two look at the animal, Zoro tries to see it as he can, moving his eyes upwards. His lips curve down. He resists the impulse to shake the animal off of him.

"He has a broken wing" Kuina had approached them.

She rests hers hands on her knees and scrutinises the little bird, which in the meantime had made itself smaller on Zoro's head.

Is a funny scene, but (Y/N) seems sad.

"Oh no- (Y/N) feels her eyes getting slightly full of tears - Did I break it?"

She hated cruelty with all her heart. If by stupidly grabbing that poor little bird for a childish game she had hurt the animal, she would never have forgiven herself.
At home, she was required to behave in a certain way and witness certain things, but she had promised herself that she would never become violent in her daily life, when she wasn't under her father's eyes.

"No, it wasn't you" Kuina gently rests her hand on the little girl's head and smiles.

The two friends, even though they were small, knew well what (Y/N) was forced to go through, and were always very careful.
Zoro put a finger on (Y/N) checks, pressing it almost too hard.

"It wasn't you, don't cry" he makes a strange, almost annoyed grimace.
It pisses him off that (Y/N) was always afraid to do something because of her father. He hates that man.
She is nothing like him! She is kind, sensitive, good, and even though she is super strong she isn't evil at all!

(Y/N) snuffs and smiles.
The friend still presses his index finger on her cheek, and the little bird on his head seems to have calmed down.
Perhaps the boy's hair color made a strange effect on the animal.

"LET'S TAKE CARE OF IT" Zoro's excitement almost makes the animal fall out of his head, as the two girls look at him in surprise.

(Y/N) slight smiles.

"Yes!" The girls nod confidently.
