Rage

Cold was all I felt
My head pounding as I watched the rippling of water fade in and out of my vision, my hand reached out so close yet so far. I slipped further into the cold hands on the unknown.

"Ugh" I coughed my throat dry as I recalled the strange dream I had, only pieces coming back to me as I tried to figure out what was going on, was I drowning?

I shrugged pulling the fluffy covers off of me and started getting ready for my day.
A soft tune escaped my mouth as I headed towards aethers room, ready to start another day.

I knocked.. once, twice yet nothing and aether was always an early bird, so something definitely wasn't right, I leaned my ear against the door trying to pick up on any sound, yet silence was all that met me ears.

I sweat dripped feeling myself panick, I called out to aether again..nothing.
I pulled back before slamming my shoulder into the door, a splintering pain travelling up my shoulder but I couldn't stop, not without knowing aether was okay.

With one last hit the lock broke slamming open the door smashing into the wall as I tumbled into the room, my eyes examining every part of them room, noticing nothing wrong I bolted to the bedroom.
My breath got caught on in my throat.

The dresser was tipped on its side the covers spread on the floor and the window wide open.
I gasped feeling tears sting my eyes as I moved into the room, immediately realising this was a kidnapping.

I crumbled to the floor struggling to control my breathing as my wilded eyes scanned the room, almost hopping aether was playing a silly prank and would appear out of somewhere laughing.. but he didn't.

I tried to control my breathing yet that only seemed to set me of more, without realising in my state of hysterics I hadn't noticed footsteps approaching until a hand touched my shoulder.

I whipped round immediately getting ready to throw a punch before noticing a strange tall man with white hair and some blue streaks, my fight or flight instincts were seconds from kicking in before I noticed a certain trio behind him.

Tears continued to prickle from my eyes and roll down my slightly puffy cheeks, a noise of confusion managed to slip past my throat.

"Are you alright amour?" Lyney spoke gently passing the strange man and grabbing my face softly, a hiccup passed my lips before I shake my head no, more tears trickling down my face at the question.

Freminet, stood awkwardly next to Lynette and the strange man, obviously wanting to reach out to me, yet knew it was better not to get in Lynne's way when it was you.

-Neuvillette Pov-

I frowned watching Lyney strut past me, trying to comfort my beloved, yet all it seemed to do was make her cry more. A smug look rested on my face as I watched Lyney try again to comfort you yet fail as you just continued to cry more.

Out of the corner of my eye I watched Lyney's sharp gaze, as he glared me down, and if I was human I might have just cowered away.

-Y/N pov-

I sniffled eventually calming down thanks to the help of Lyney and occasionally Freminet who piped in with some loving comments.

"Aethers gone" I spoke softly feeling tears rise but I wiped them away swiftly refusing to break anymore.

"Gone?" A chorus of voices spoke confused each one finally noticing the disarray of the very room we were in.

"Oh dear, Lynette would you mind being a dear and letting the receptionist know, maybe we should move you to a safer place sweetheart" Lyney spoke, the softness of his voice soothed me as I nodded trying to stand up, but I finally noticed just how much all of this has a effected me, as my legs were practically jelly at this point.

A sigh escaped my lips as my head hang low, before I had time to try again though I was surprised to feel a pair of soft hands under my knees and the other by my lower back. I gasped flushing at the sudden action, about to ask Lyney to put me down and I was fine.

However it wasn't Lyney who had picked me up it was Freminet?
I looked up at him confused yet he refused to look at me as a bright blush enveloped his whole face, he strode forwards out aethers room and towards mine.

"Th-this is your room right" he squeaked evidently nervous in my presence, I nodded hinting at him to put me down, he slowly set me down seeming almost upset yet he didn't object.

" am I supposed to get my stuff, am I mov-moving where am I going?" I spoke softly feeling very vulnerable right now.

He nodded the blush seemed to spread further, and just like that he spun away from me.
"I will wait here for you take your time" he squeaked.

I smiled, "okay"

I entered my room wondering around packing the few odd pieces of clothing I had, being completely oblivious to the ragged breathing outside and the soft whines of a certain someone who had a slight problem.

I finished packing the last bits of my stuff as I walked out my room locking it and spun round expecting to see Freminet yet that strange man was there again, who seemed to be smiling a bit to wide for my liking.

"Ready to go amour?"
I tilted my head to the side confusion the only expression on my face.

"I'm sorry who are you?"

"Ah I'm sorry I'm Neuvillette, a friend of Falcor" he spoke gently yet he held authority in his tone.

I nodded, "where am I going? Also w-will aether be found are people looking for him?" I spoke hurriedly panic flowing through my veins again.

"Yes yes I assure you, there is already an investigation underway as we speak"

I nodded feeling my heart slow down to it's normal pace feeling slightly more relaxed knowing he should be found soon.. hopefully.

As I headed of with Neuvillette towards the reception, explaining the current situation, and after a while we were off with the two magicians and diver trailing not far behind us, yet all eyes were on me.

And if only I had paid more attention I would have noticed the eyes that practically undressed me. However I was too absorbed in my thoughts of aether and the potential kidnapper then to the wandering eyes of basically my three angry guard dogs.

-Time skip-

We arrived at the opera house, my eyes were drooping even though I had only been awake a few hours, the past event had practically knocked me out of it.

I huffed as we walked up the grand stairs to the opera house again but this time aether wasn't with me, instead it was Neuvillette, but I hadn't noticed the tio that had been following us come to a stop just before the steps, watching me and Neuvillette enter the opera house.

Just before we had entered, my head hanging low and guilt plaguing my mind, I missed the slight nod Lyney had sent Neuvillette's way.

An understanding.

So the trio dispersed, Lyney practically disappearing along with Lynette. But Freminet had other plans, he pulled his helmet out gently putting it on before heading towards the old cottage to the north west of Fontaine were that annoying man lived, ready to take some anger out.

The one thought on the trios mind was whoever had taken Aether was now also asking for a death wish.

After all they had practically stuck a thorn in their side, as aether was an important part of there plan.

And it was too soon to let such a pawn like him fall in such a boring way.
