Chapter 3

As the second half of the school year began, Cassandra decided to confide in her all-time best friend, Amanda. Cassandra leaned into Amanda with a whisper in her ear and revealed the secret she had kept from Amanda since she started school here.

"Amanda, I have a secret to tell you", Cassandra started. "As you know, before I came here, my family lived in England. When my parents were working, I spent most of the time either at Windsor Castle or Saint James Palace." Amanda was shocked at what she heard.

As she chuckled, Cassandra stared into the distance. "Oh, don't worry, there is more to tell. I don't know if you really follow the royal family on social media, but I would assume that if you did, you would have seen Prince Harry use his Twitter account to tweet at the beginning of this school year? " Amanda nodded in agreement as she remembered that tweet, "Well, that tweet was actually about me. A lot of my time was spent with the royal family while I was in the UK. Harry and Wills have always been my older brothers; Eugenie, Beatrice, and Kate have always been my older sisters.

She kept listening intently to what Cassandra said, her eyes widening in astonishment as Cassandra revealed her friends' secret Twitter handles and Instagram usernames. She was utterly flabbergasted by what she heard. It was a total surprise to her that Cassandra, a seemingly unassuming friend, had such an incredible circle of hidden friends, something she had never considered.

She couldn't resist the urge to imagine the many conversations and adventures that must have taken place between Cassandra and her friends back in England. Amanda wondered how Cassandra, who had such incredible connections with many people, never once boasted about them. Why was Cassandra so secretive about such relationships?

Amanda's admiration for Cassandra grew as the words lingered in the air. She marvelled at her friend's ability to maintain such friendships while still being humble and unassuming. She thought it was a testament to Cassandra's character.

From that moment on, Amanda's perception of Cassandra was forever altered. And as the second half of the school year unfolded, Amanda couldn't help but wonder what other secrets Cassandra had.

On the 20th of May, eleven days before her sixteenth birthday party, Cassandra was immersed in a whirlwind of excitement. The anticipation of this day consumed her every thought as she eagerly awaited the arrival of her birthday. With great enthusiasm, she had planned a party to commemorate this significant milestone in her life.

The party was going to take place on the day of her actual birthday. The guest list was carefully selected and included some of her closest friends and a few other individuals she was close to.

It just happened that her parents were attending a conference over the weekend. Her parents trusted her to keep the house clean and not trashed, confident in her ability to make wise decisions. As a sign of their trust in her, they stated that they expected her to refrain from excessive drinking and avoid any actions that might cause her regrets in the future.

As a result of getting their trust, she felt mature. A lot of responsibility rested on her shoulders, and she was determined to show them she was worthy of their trust. So the party was a celebration of her sixteenth birthday and a chance to show off her responsible nature.

Each aspect of the event, from the decorations to the delicious food, was meticulously planned in her mind. Soft fairy lights and vibrant flowers adorning every corner would glow warmly. Music was chosen to suit everyone's taste.

As the days ticked away, her excitement grew. She eagerly counted down the days until her 16th birthday. Her parents' trust in her only fuelled her determination to make this a party to remember. Her preparations for the party continued to grow as each day passed, with her ensuring that every detail of the party was handled with care.
