Cassie perspective

The following morning, I woke up to a text from Karen informing me that the payment confirmation had come in, the house was now mine, and that she would drop the keys over shortly. I jumped out of bed, quickly threw on my clothes, and ran downstairs to get a cup of coffee. I was so excited that I could hardly contain my enthusiasm. I drank my coffee while I waited impatiently for Karen to arrive with the keys.

Amanda, who had been watching me the entire time, laughed at me and said, "You're so excited about a house? I don't think I've ever seen you this excited about anything!" I smiled sheepishly and said, "Yeah, I guess you're right. This is a pretty big deal for me." Amanda gave me a big hug and said, "I'm so proud of you!" I thanked her and then waited for Karen to arrive. As soon as Karen left, I asked Amanda if she wanted to come with me to my new house.

She smiled and said, "Of course I do! I want to be the first one to see it!" We drove to the new house, and I felt so proud and excited as I unlocked the door and stepped inside. Amanda was impressed with the house. I told her about my plans to convert the guest house into a recording studio, and she was amazed at the idea. She said it was a great use of the space and that she was sure I'd have it up and running in no time.

We quickly went back to Amanda's house, and I started packing up my suitcases and the twins' things. I was so eager to get to my new home that I moved quickly and was soon ready to go. Amanda helped me carry the luggage to my car and gave me a big hug goodbye. As I pulled into the driveway, I could barely contain my excitement. I got out of the car and opened the door to my new house. I stepped inside and looked around, feeling proud that this was now my home.

The first thing I did when I arrived home was move my suitcases up to the master bedroom and the twins' suitcases to their respective rooms so that I could begin unpacking. It took me about an hour to unpack everything, but once I had done that, I was done. Sitting down on the couch, I took a deep breath and started to slowly relax. It had finally happened; I had purchased my first home. Even though my grandparents bought it for me, it was still mine.

I sat in my new lounge and picked up my guitar. As I felt the familiar strings beneath my fingers, I smiled to myself. I started strumming a few chords, and soon, I was lost in the sound of the music, the only noise in the house that was now mine. I felt a sense of accomplishment and pride as I continued to play, surrounded by the walls of my new home. I grabbed my phone and opened up the recording app. I began strumming my guitar and singing the lyrics that had come to mind.

I hummed a few notes and began to feel the music come alive as I added the words I had been writing in my head.

Step into the rhythm; it is time to make a brand-new start

Packing up the memories, we're ready for a fresh new part

Got the keys to a dream, a place to call our very own

We'll dance through the rooms, turning this house into a home

We'll paint the walls with colours as bright as sunshine beams

Fill each corner with laughter, chasing away old dreams

Every space tells stories, woven into melodies

With every beat, we'll create a place that sets us free

In our Home Sweet Melody, we'll find our harmony

Dancing through the melodies, creating memories

From the living room to the kitchen, where love will overflow
In our Home Sweet Melody, our happiness will glow
