Cassie's Perspective
I left the lounge and headed to my room to make the first of three Facetime calls. I was feeling slightly anxious as I walked down the hallway. I was dreading the conversations I had to have with my family and friends. I had been putting it off for a while, but now it was time to face the music. I took a deep breath and opened the door to my room. I set up my laptop and opened the Facetime app. I took another deep breath and called Ed first. I quickly found Ed's number and dialled it.
I was relieved to see his face on the screen when he answered. "Hey, Ed!" I said with a smile. "It's been a while since we talked, and I have some news I want to share with you."
"OK, sis, what's up?" I settled back on my bed. "Well, firstly, I am buying a house here in Canada so the twins can see Shawn more often. I'm also planning on switching careers, and I'm hoping you still want to help me produce an album." I paused and waited for Ed's reaction.
Ed smiled warmly at me through the camera and said, "That's great, sis! Shawn will be thrilled to have the twins around more often. I'm sure it will be an excellent place for them to grow up." I nodded in agreement. "Yeah, I think so too. It'll be nice to have a place of our own here in Canada." I smiled back at him; he stopped for a moment and continued, "That's great news, sis!" Ed said. "I am so proud of you for taking this big step. Let me know if you need anything, okay?"
"Actually," I replied, "my new house has a guest house I want to convert to a music studio. Do you know anyone who could help me set it up?" Ed looked at me. "Yes, I do," Ed said with a smile. "I have a friend over there who owns a music production business. I'll send you their contact info right away, and they can help you get the studio up and running." "Thanks so much," I said gratefully.
"I really appreciate it." Ed smiled and said, "No problem, sis. I'm here to help. Good luck with the studio, and let me know how it goes!" "Thanks, big brother", I said with a smile. Ed smiled and said, "No problem, little sister. Anything else I can help you with before I go back to sleep?" "No, I think that's it for now," I said with a grateful smile.
"But I really appreciate your help. I'm sure I'll need more of it in the future. I'll keep you posted on the progress of the studio, okay?." I said.
"Sure thing," Ed replied. "Good luck, sis. I'll talk to you soon." With that, we said our goodbyes and hung up. I felt a wave of relief wash over me. With Ed's help, I was one step closer to achieving my dreams. I was grateful for his help and support.
I was confident that I could now focus on making the recording studio a reality. Next, I dialled Will and Kate's number. When they answered, I could see their beaming faces on the screen. "Hey guys!" I said with a smile. "What's up?" "Hey, sis!" they said in unison. "Well, firstly, I am buying a house here in Canada so the twins can see Shawn more often. I also plan on switching careers to music and not staying in medicine. Also, my new house has a guest house I want to convert to a music studio."
"We're so excited to hear about your plans for the house and the studio. Tell us all about it!" I filled them in on the details and explained how Ed had volunteered to connect me with someone in Canada who could help me. Will and Kate were thrilled to hear about my plans and offered to help in any way they could. I thanked them for their support, and we chatted for a few more minutes before we said our goodbyes. Taking a deep breath, I picked up the phone and dialled the next number.
This call was making me anxious. When I called the palace, I was surprised to hear a voice on the other end answer the phone. "Hello, this is the Royal Palace. How may I help you?" I explained who I was and asked to be connected to the Queen and Prince Phillip. Soon, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip were visible on my Facetime call. "Hello, Grandmother, Grandfather," I said with a smile.
