          The battle continues

The battle continues. We fight. The army of Xiterra, shoulder to shoulder with the help that just arrived, fights fiercer than it did before. And demons fall. And they rise again. And so do soldiers. Because, when the sea of colors swipes over the shadows of the Dark Lord's army, the future seems brighter. It seems easier to reach. While I twist and turn, I find the courage to soak in this sight that splays out in front of me. The copper armors of Xiterra can barely be seen, under layers of dirt and blood, but it's not the same for the new soldiers. Their armors look new. Untouched. And they contrast with the darkness in such a breathtaking manner that it makes me feel my knees becoming weak. It almost makes me crumble. Because I don't feel like this is real at all. It feels like a fever dream.

Magnus: Chris, where are the others?

Yells Magnus over his shoulder, yanking me out of my own thoughts, as he swings his sword restlessly. He makes his way through the multitude of demon soldiers while gritting his teeth. And I throw glances left and right, alerted. As if I just woke up. As if I just realized that my brother and his wife disappeared. So did Vale, Taehyung, Isabelle and Jungkook. I gulp. That makes six of them. Fear fills my stomach. I realize what's happening, but I force myself not to believe it.

Chris: They were here a moment ago. *I whisper breathlessly*
Magnus: *he chops off the head of a demon* We must find them-

He yells again, but he can't finish his sentence as the ground starts shaking violently, cracking and swallowing the unfortunate soldiers and demons that fight on top of it. I clench my jaw. What the fuck is going on? Lifting my head, I get my answer. Because, on the balcony of the obsidian castle, the Dark Lord stands tall, holding the Fire Amaryllis in one hand and, in front of him, the six people we were looking for are bowing low, their foreheads touching the floor. My breath freezes inside my lungs so violently that it makes my whole chest shrink in pain. The prophecy. Magnus told me about it. An ancient prophecy that very few know about. In the last moments of the Dark Lord's rise, he will choose six of the finest bloods, succumb them to him by force and use the essence he would steal from their cores to become the most powerful. Uncontrollable. Unstoppable.
I look at Magnus alerted. He looks at me. And we both nod. It's time to confront the Dark Lord.

Magnus's P.o.v:

Feeling my daughter's fingers wrapping around my hand, I close my eyes and I allow myself to float among the fabrics of the world as she teleports us across the battlefield, closer to the obsidian castle. If we want to defeat the Dark Lord, we must be as close to him as possible. That's why we are both rushing now towards the gate. The battle still unfolds around us, beside us, under and above us, but I push demons to the side using drops of magic as we run faster towards the castle. Towards the closed gate which separates us from our destiny.
Grunting, Chris stumbles backwards and hits her spine against the ground before she even has the chance to touch the door. She coughs twice and each time her shoulders shake, a part of me shatters.
