Do Hwan's P.o.v:

By foot, the distance I went would resume to three whole days. However, in the flow of the darkness, I managed to travel in less than twelve hours. Without a single break, I jumped from one shadow to another, taking all kinds of shapes and forms. And my precision brought me here. Right in front of the Dark Lord's castle.
Gulping, I lift my chin and, hiding under the shadow of a rock, I observe the almighty castle. Unlike the castle of Xiterra, which vibrates with life, the Dark Lord's castle rises imposingly, poking the sky with one of its tallest towers. The walls are sculpted in obsidian and I'm sure that, if the sun ever managed to break through the dark clouds, this castle would have drained it of its light. It already has a glow of its own, shining almost as brightly as the Northern star and I shudder as I take a step forward.
Holding my breath, I slide smoothly across the meadow and, closing my eyes, I transform into the shadow of a thin blade of grass. So little that nobody can see me. But, from my place, jumping from one shadow to the other along the piece of land, I can see everything. I can hear everything. I can feel everything. Each step of the demons, each breath, each shriek. I can see the way an army camp is settled right underneath the rock where the castle is built on. I can hear the screeching sound of claws being sharpened. I can feel the evil floating upwards from the surface of this cursed earth. In the shadow of a petite daisy, I shudder once again.
A huge foot hovers above me and, panicked, I flow to the right, transforming into the shadow of a rock. The demon, looking exactly like a boar, with claws and sharp teeth, steps on the daisy as if it doesn't even exist. And a sudden realization hits me, freezing the breath inside my lungs. This dark army doesn't only kill. They destroy. They step on their opponents the way this monster stepped on the flower. A creature of light. The white flower represented one last desperate try of the good forces to break through the surface of the darkness. Yet, these monsters didn't even give it a chance to fight back. They stomped on it carelessly. They destroyed it. Because that's the only thing they are capable of.
Still holding my breath, I slither through the grass and I try my best to memorize everything. How the tents are placed, how far they are from the castle, what's the path that leads to the castle, how to get inside the castle, where they keep the poison, how they train, how they fight. Everything. As a spy, I memorize each strength and weakness of the enemy. I make up plans and I picture the bloody battle that is going to take place in this very meadow. Then, before entering the castle, I stop. A woman's voice travels all the way to my ears. Is that Evanora?

Evanora: How beautiful. *she hums as she waters a few rose bushes which grew underneath the rock* How beautiful, yet dangerous. *she says as she crouches down and caresses the petals of a rose* My secret weapon. My grand plan to bring the assassins closer to their ruination. *she blows on the rose and I notice black smoke cascading down the red petals* When the right time comes...

She whispers and, flowing through the dark, I jump right into her shadow. I transform into the darkness which floats beneath her feet, I walk in her footsteps. I mold into the shape of her shadow. I become her shadow. I breathe in unison with her, I guide my heart to beat in the same rhythm as hers and, as soon as she takes a step forward, I rise from the darkness, pressing a sharp blade against her throat.
