Vale's P.o.v:
Groaning, I feel a terrible headache spreading through my skull. It shatters into millions of pieces which poke my mind like needles. It grazes the walls which seem to keep me trapped inside my own being. I hear the scraping noises. I hear them echoing inside my head, but I try my best to ignore them as I lift my chin. Or at least I try to lift it. I can't find the strength within myself to do it. Because my head is as heavy as a rock. Clenching my teeth, I lift my hands to grip it. Again, I try to lift them. However, I find myself unable to move at all. My wrists and ankles are tied to what seems like a chair and I force myself to open my eyes completely. I force myself to look around. To analyze my surroundings. And what I see shakes me to the very core.
Taehyung is beside me. He looks fine. There isn't blood on his skin or clothes, no scratches or bruises. However, his wrists and ankles are tied to a chair too. His chin is pressed against his collarbone and his eyes are still closed. He's still unconscious. Swearing underneath my breath, I jerk my arms. In vain.Man: It looks like my magic didn't affect you at all.
Hums a man from the shadows and steps into the light as soon as he finishes his sentence. I force myself to observe his features in the semi-dark. And, soon, I find his face familiar. He's the man that appeared before us when we arrived in the human village. Tall and dark haired, he looks irresistible at first sight. However, now that I see and feel what he's capable of, I don't seem to like him anymore. He's cute. A cute villain, nonetheless.
Vale: *I clench my jaw* Where did you take us?
I ask through gritted teeth and suppress a flinch when the ceiling trembles above us. I look around alarmed and I soon realize that it isn't because of an earthquake. It's because of a party that is going on upstairs. Only now I can hear the loud music and cheers and only now I can sense the strong smell of cider. I gag. Cider isn't the only smell that is leaking through the cracks of the floor. It combines with the pungent smells of drunk people. Smells that I wouldn't like to enumerate.
The heavy dance steps of the people above us make the ceiling tremble once again and I glare at the man with ebony hair. He holds an empty beer glass in his hand and lifts it, shaking it in the air.Man: I'll go get a refill. Stay put, will you?
He jokes shamelessly and laughs on his way out. He shuts the door behind him and the air current puts out the candles which throw lazy shadows across the rock walls. Suddenly, there isn't any light left. And I feel like I'm suffocating. I huff and nudge Taehyung with my shoulder.
Vale: Tae! *I call his name through the dark and push my shoulder into his arm again, more powerful* Taehyung!
He doesn't answer. And I try not to panic. Gulping, I throw glances left and right. But I can't see anything. Darkness is as thick as fog and I force myself, but I can't squeeze a gram of power out of my veins. I can't hear Taehyung's breaths either. And that drives me insane. All of a sudden, I find myself crying. In the darkness of what smells like a basement, I cry bitter tears as I regret the decision of leaving the mansion in the first place. If only I listened to what the others said. But I didn't. I left before Magnus even woke up. And now, in the hands of the enemy, I try not to lose my mind. I try to recollect myself. For my partner's sake, I try to gulp down my tears and to stay calm.
