The young woman stands in the light and, before anyone says a thing, she bows her head respectfully. I don't know her name. I just know that I attempted to save her life one year ago. She is the girl who was sleeping in Drexetor's house, the probe we needed to pass in order to receive the key to the temple. She looks better than she did a year ago. Standing under the light of the chandelier, she looks full of life, beautiful. Her face is still round and her long lashes and bangs make her look like a doll that was recently taken out of the box. Her cheeks are rosy now, opposite to how they were a year ago in that dark room and her lips are plump, looking like two petals of a rose.
Silence reigns as Vale walks towards the young woman slowly and takes her hands in hers, squeezing them as if she can't believe that the woman is actually there.

Vale: One year ago... It was you.
Drexetor: Indeed, lady Vale. Amethyst is the girl that you saved from death.
Denise: *gulping, I turned towards him* We saved her? But I thought that the spell didn't work out.
Drexetor: *with a soft smile, he gestured towards Amethyst* It did in the end, can't you see?

With my bottom lip trembling, I approach her too and my heart melts when Amethyst smiles softly. She is so beautiful. This close, she looks completely breathtaking.

Amethyst: You helped me then and I am here to help you now. Nesteryn of Aurorae *she says as she gestures towards the leader, the powerful woman that stands beside her* and I are going to help you in this war with everything we can.
Nesteryn: *she nods* I noticed the state of the world. I saw the balance being disturbed. Magnus, the Dark Lord is growing more and more powerful as time passes. We need to find a solution quickly.
Magnus: *he nods* That's why I gathered you all here. I'm afraid that the war all of us feared has already started.

Magnus told us everything he knew about the Dark Lord. From the curse he brought above us, to his appearance, he told us everything and we reflected upon his words, we discussed every possibility that existed, but, still, the prospects of victory seemed too far fetched when we considered the small amount of people that we had to send to a place that we didn't even know if it existed. Everything was put under a question mark and, for four hours, we discussed all of our possibilities, realizing in the end that there weren't a lot and that we weren't prepared at all for what was coming.

Magnus: He already built his castle and raised an army of demons. He even started to attack human villages one by one.
Nesteryn: *she asks in a calm tone which makes my blood run cold* How many towns has he attacked so far?

Magnus doesn't say anything. He just bites the inside of his cheek as he returns his gaze towards the huge map he spread on the table. Instead of pointing towards a specific spot, he covers at least ten towns, populated by humans, in the Western side of Claecynthia with a bunch of black gargoyle figurines.

Isabelle's P.o.v:

The Council meeting lasted longer than I can remember and, after we turned the problem on all sides, after we digested it and discussed it into the tiniest of details, we decided that we should slowly try to gather a small army. However, the truth that pushes us down, even when we are all scattered in our own rooms, is that nobody is going to want to fight alongside us. Would humans accept our invitation to death? Would creatures support our decision and join us? There are so many questions that make us all crumble and I sigh as I take another sip from my drink, staring at a moon that doesn't want to show itself.
