A month later...

Seraphina

The lady of the Underworld felt exhausted as she trained under the black sun; not physically but mentally like her brain was trying to solve a puzzle when there wasn't any puzzle. Had she always been like this in the Underworld, Hades' domain, now her husband's, Lucifer's domain?

She didn't know but as the Lady of the Underworld, she knew she had to get used to it and stop complaining. She had to make my husband proud and she should stop questioning him or stirring up his wrath.

Seraphina looked over to Aaron, who was resting in the shade. Like close friends, she could feel his exhaustion like those that her brothers and sisters were experiencing but they keep their heads down and focused on their training.

Her husband was preparing them to enter Earth again and fight the war up there. As they were precious to him, he had assigned guards to look over them but Seraphina felt it was more to spy on her and the others.

As predicted, she looked around and noticed the not-so-subtle glances on her and a timer ticking before it becomes long enough for the guards to report back to her husband. Lucifer will not be happy if he finds out that she has been slacking off on training and so she forced herself to do a round of push-ups, sit-ups and an intensive run around the training grounds before she joined Aaron, who had just finished a series of weights, in the shade.

He slid over to make room for her on the bench before handing her a cup of medicinal water that Lucifer said will get rid of the headaches that they were experiencing.

Lately, in the gods' chambers, they have been having trouble sleeping, something that she did not want to tell her husband. He has a temper and he would not tolerate insignificant information such as this.

"Tell me this dream you're having", Seraphina greeted him, which made him cringe his eyes at a distance. They all had dreams that felt so real like it was from another life but they just couldn't remember ever experiencing it. The night before Seraphina had a dream that she was in bed made of silk in a lake manor next to a handsome stranger.

She just can't place a finger on the time and date but she clearly remembered the texture of the silk and the rough, warm touch of the stranger, with blonde hair that shadowed his eyes. For some reason, she knew that those eyes were brilliant not only in colour but also in reflection of the stranger's character.

Aaron rubbed his head and looked bitterly away before he said, "I saw that man from the dungeons; the one who keeps on coming to me when I have to get a prisoner."

Seraphina knew that prisoner Aaron was talking about. He was mute and tried to talk through grunts and hand-gestures that they couldn't understand. The others, her husband's dark angels and colonels laughed at them but she just couldn't muster up the humour for it. She could just pull up a sad excuse of a smirk but even then that still made her feel sick.

They say that the prisoner betrayed Lucifer and betrayal was a high crime. Seraphina cringed at a distant memory but still she can't remember the name but knew it started with a 'b'.
