"Why did you fight him?" Naina asked, pushing away that look that pushed her soul out of the body, adamant to stay beside him.

"You ask as if you don't know," he said spitefully, coughing the remnants of blood. His face was swollen, covered in blood, and his hair drenched in sweat, he looked ghastly and dangerous. No longer the handsome and clean CEO, but some mafia boss. Naina wiped the blood gingerly from his lips, making him turn around and look at her, his eyes growing softer at her touch. "Why be with that asshole? You're here now because you love me."

"No. I'm here because I'm guilty," Naina lied, watching a dark shadow fall over his face as he frowned. Just frowning caused blood to trickle in between his eyebrows and pinch there, making him wince. "Go to the hospital, please. Get yourself treated."

He brushed off her hands, straightening his back and grasping her hand. "No I'm going home and you're coming with me."

"You know I can't . . ."

"Yes, you are," he said firmly, tightening his grip. "I don't give a fuck whether you love me or him or anyone else. I don't want you to hurt yourself. You saw right now what happened. These protests can turn into a riot anytime."

"We will handle it better next time. It's our fight, you're my enemy. I can't be seen holding hands with you," she said, frantically trying to withdraw her hand like a toddler stubbornly wanting to walk on her own.

"Enemy? Just a day back we were sharing a bed."

"Not anymore, we're divorced!"

"I will never sign those papers," he growled, raising their hands up to show how tight his grip was on her.

Naina extended her arm to put distance between the two despite his death grip. "Remember, one arm's distance?"

"Doesn't matter---" Just then, he frowned again, his gaze fluttering down to her nose. "Did you get hurt there?"

"Why? Of course, when I came to stop you both, you hit me," she said in a cheerful, sarcastic tone, her hand subconsciously flying to touch her nose. She felt a wetness there and she rubbed it, mistaking it for mucus. It wasn't till seconds later that her eyes landed on the blood stains on her fingers that she shouted, "Oh my God, I'm bleeding!"

And she fainted (which later the doctor clarified was due to stress rather than the punch).

Ohas crouched, cradling his face in between his hands to stop the ache torturing his head. "Why are you here?"

"He doesn't care about me so there's no point going there. But you do," Priya said, crouching beside him and offering him a bottle of Bisleri. "So I'm returning the favor."

To Priya's surprise, Ohas took the bottle from her, unfixed the lid, and poured the water over his face, shaking his head like a dog after being drenched in rain. Ohas didn't want to take any help from this woman, but he was secretly thankful to feel the cool water against his hot head, despite how it stung and burned where the blood colored the water. Ohas could sense she was looking at him from the corner of his eyes and he could picture big eyes full of curiosity in his head. To put an end to whatever curiosity she had, he turned to directly look at her, pointedly.

To his surprise, she wasn't looking at him with curiosity, but rather with familiarity as if they belonged to the same kin. What the fuck was common between them? Nothing!

Slightly uneasy at how her face was so close, a pretty one at that, he got up and began striding towards where Naina had disappeared. He could hear light jump-like footsteps after him as if a child was skipping behind him. Why was she following him? Granted, that he had followed her multiple times now (sometimes without her knowledge), she had no business following him. Couldn't she just go back, take that bastard with her, and leave Naina and him alone?
