Estelle
I open the front door after a long day at the café, sliding my shoes and coat off before entering the house. I still live with my mom and brother. He's two years older than me but still acts like he's younger. He always tries to act so cool like his friends, – more like immature – like if they go somewhere, he has to go, if they buy something he has to buy it, etc. Even if it costs a million dollars. But he doesn't care because to him, our money is his money.
I walk towards the living room and find him sitting there, eating chips and wiping his hands on his clothes. See? A fucking toddler. I walk inside the room and switch off the TV, he's watching something on his phone, completely ignoring my existence.
''Liam.'' I grit out, tossing his filthy clothes away from the couch on the floor. He doesn't answer, I inhale slowly trying to keep my temper cool. ''Liam.'' I toss a pillow at him, finally that catches his attention.
''What? Can't you see that I'm busy?'' He spits as he sits up from his position and runs a hand through his hair. With his hand full of crumbs. Disgusting. I step towards the coffee table and start clearing off his dishes. ''Whatever, Liam. But I'm really getting fed up of your unemployed ass. We can't live like this anymore Liam, me and you both know it is time for you to get a job. Or stop leeching off of our money. It's making both me, and mom exhausted every day.'' I speak carefully, knowing that if I spoke a little bit above a whisper he'd start calling me out for yelling.
''Are you seriously kicking me out?'' He slightly raises his voice, I roll my eyes at his words before trudging towards the kitchen, and piling all the dishes in the sink. His dishes. ''No, or yes- I mean no.. you're just so messy Liam. All these dishes are yours." I move towards the table and start cleaning up the rest of the mess.
''Whatever. Anyways when is mom coming home? My friend just got these amazing shoes and I think they'd fit me perfectly.'' He speaks, walking towards the messy table. He grins smugly, shoving his phone towards my face. I sigh peeking at the screen. ''The shoes are pretty.. but are you serious?? 227 dollars?! Are you crazy Liam?!'' I yell, shoving his phone back to him, accidentally making it slip and land onto the filthy table.
''Estelle, what the fuck? What is your problem? It's not even that expensive, mom literally works, she has the money.'' He rolls his eyes, grabbing his phone but not before throwing his empty chip bag on the table looking me in the eye. As he turns and stomps back towards the living room, I glare at the back of his head.
See this is what I hate about having a spoiled brother, he always ends up saying that mom's just being selfish when in reality he wouldn't be alive without her.

Just as I step out of the shower with a towel tightly hugging my waist, I plop down on my bed and start to scroll through my phone, my phone suddenly blowing up with messages from Flora. I click on the notifications as a weak smile starts to spread on my face.
FLORA
'Heyy pookie so I was just wondering what you're doing this weekend?'
'Nothing, why?'
It takes her a few minutes before responding again.
'You know my favourite band? Fovere? Yeah it's like their concert on Saturday and I thought you could come with me? ;)'
I paused for a moment thinking about work, before typing again.
'I mean sure, but aren't the tickets pretty expensive?'
'Don't worry Esti poo😘 I got it, you just get dressed up all cute and I'll come get you at 3pm on Saturday, okay pooks?'
