Estelle
I let out a sigh, my body physically hurting. ''Are you almost done, Estelle?'' I groan at the masculine voice, I work harder, my hand scrubbing harder and faster.
I glance back at Adam and give him a nod before moving towards the next table and setting down the cleaning tools once again. I can feel Adam's eyes on my back, watching me clean the tables, waiting for me to be done. I think that he wanted to introduce me to his friend, but I really don't need more social interaction for today.
"Estelle you can do it later, y'know?" Adam sighs from behind me before resting his hand on my shoulder. Exhaust starts to take over my arms and my movements begin to slow down.
As I am about to respond, a customer walks in. Both of our heads spin in their direction, probably for different reasons. Adam steals another glance in my direction with a reassuring look before making his way back towards the counter.
I finish up the table that I am at, and perfect my posture and turn around, facing the two guys. The customer is still looking at the menu.
Cole, Adams friend takes a sip from his hot chocolate, his dark eyes glued to the door. Adam glances back at Cole, and follows his line of vision to where Cole has been staring for the last five minutes.
''What is it?'' I ask, my eyes drifting towards the door as well, seeing that there are four motorcycles parked right outside.
''Is that them?'' Cole asks, completely ignoring my question. Adam shrugs before stepping behind the cash register, where the customer has been standing - probably deciding on what to eat - for the past couple minutes.
Cole takes a quick glance at me before taking a seat in the book corner. Exactly where Aldric always sits.
I feel my heart sink at the thought of Aldric. I thought he actually wanted to be friends with me. I thought his whole I don't want to talk to you facade was just that. A facade. But of course, this friendship is completely one sided. Like always.
It's getting late, almost near closing time, therefore the cleaning of the tables. Finally finishing them up, I walk back behind the counter and kneel down to the shelf that the cleaning materials are kept on. It's been a couple of days since the concert, and still no sight of Aldric. I almost feel like I will never see him again.
The door chimes, and I bolt upright making sure the new customers know I am there, since Adam had walked away to make a coffee for the other customer.
''Hello! What can I get you-'' I feel the words die down slowly, as I register the four guys standing in front of me. "-today?"
Fovere.
I recognize them from their concert. Lucas, Phantom, Andrew and Jacob. Yet, still no sign of Aldric.
''Could I get what Aldric always orders, wanna know what that scumbag always drinks that makes him pissy.'' A voice further back teases, Phantom.
I stay rooted to the ground not moving or speaking. They laugh and then start saying something, but all I can think about is Aldric. Of course, Aldric isn't here. Of course, he decided not to come here with his friends, just because he didn't want to see me.
Adam breaks me out of my thoughts by sending me a glare as he speaks with the guys, ''I'm sorry... yeah I'll get it done in a few minutes. Please take a seat while we bring you your drinks!'' He responds kindly. His hand squeezes my arm lightly, giving me a sense of warmth and ease through my veins.
