I have never been good at expressing my emotions. I can't confront people about anything. Recently it's been bugging me a lot.
Because my emotions can't express themselves to me. And I have no idea what to do, how to act and why it's all been happening.
My eyes drift to the man with perfect posture in front of the mesmerising river.
His hood resting on top of his head, his hands buried in his pockets. He looks ahead of him, either ignoring the fact that my eyes haven't left him for an hour, or he hasn't yet noticed.
I get up from sitting and make my way towards him, each step making my heart beat erratically.
I stop next to him, taking in the view in front of us.
The stars are glittering throughout the pitch black sky, the glowing moon is only half tonight — ten year old me would be glad that it isn't a full moon.
Little me was convinced that everything she read, would happen to her one day. One time I read a book about vampires and couldn't sleep without my mom for a whole week, thinking they would suck my blood in the night. My mom was really fed up with me at that time.
I let out a soft smile at the memories flowing around in my brain.
"What are you so happy about?" Aldric's voice snaps me out of my little moment. I tilt my head up as my smile grows at the sight of him.
"Nothing." Aldric narrows his eyes at me before looking back ahead of him.
I try to look away from him, but my eyes betray me as they take in every detail about him and his side profile.
He has more scars than before, I have yet to learn why and how.
His piercing grey eyes look cold as always, and I almost miss the moments where they looked slightly warmer.
His nose is so perfectly shaped, his lips look so pink, so so pink.
I part my lips as my eyes stay glued on his.
Aldric slowly turns his head towards me, his eyes drift down to mine. I look up from his lips and meet his eyes.
We stare at each other for what feels like an eternity, only to be interrupted by his phone ringing.
Aldric snaps his eyes away from mine as he pulls his phone out from his pocket.
He places the phone next to his ear, "Lucas?" He slowly drifts away from my sight as he walks towards the bench, I don't follow him.
I look away from his retreating form and face the river.
The water is flowing so gently tonight, just reflecting the specks of brightness from the stars. I can see the little fish swimming throughout, almost as if they are playing tag with one another.
