I make my way towards the living room, finding Liam sitting on the couch, scrolling through his phone.
I smile, "Morning!" I chirp, Liam looks up from his phone, meeting my gaze— he sends me a soft smile, "Morning, how did you sleep?" His question has me stunned.
I stumble on my words, Liam has never asked me that ever since we were kids.
I shrug, taking a seat next to him, "Quite alright, what about you?" I ask, Liam shrugs as well as he mutters a 'Just fine'.
I nod awkwardly, we sit in silence until he breaks it with best news I've heard all week, "Oh yeah, I finally found a solid job."
I quickly whip my head to meet his face as a grin takes over, "Finally! Where are you working?" I ask, the grin still plastered on my face.
I earn enough money to get by, — maybe even more — but I have always had to share my money with Liam, leaving me with barely enough money to get groceries let alone anything for myself.
Liam has been shifting from job to job, all of which paid minimum wage and I'm still not sure where all that money went, I'm assuming he had to pay off some debt to a drug dealer or something. I wouldn't be surprised..
However, he seems like he's actually getting a lot better, and maybe with this new job, we can finally be able to get out of this dirty place.
Liam sighs, "A substitute teacher." He mumbles, almost as if he's ashamed.
I immediately laugh, "Why do you sound so ashamed of it? I mean... yeah you're pretty terrible with kids, you're impatient— oh and you get angry really fast-" I reason, Liam scoffs, cutting me off, "No you were just a difficult child to raise, I have no clue how our mother dealt with you." He drags out, I roll my eyes at him.
We start talking about his schedule, wasting no time to plan a hang out someday.
I smile as I realise that I'm finally spending time with my brother, something we haven't done for years.

"You're wasting our precious rocks." I break the silence, walking through the forest. Aldric quickly turns his head in my direction.
He turns his attention back to the river as I finally stop next to him, "Yeah, my bad." He sounds troubled, I furrow my brows as I watch him, "What's wrong?" I ask, Aldric simply shakes his head, "Nothing, I just didn't get enough sleep." He mumbles.
I don't buy it, but I don't push it either.
I watch him take out some sort of package, realizing it's used when Aldric takes out a cigarette and lights it.
A few seconds later he inhales— looking handsome per usual.
He leans back on a tree, his eyes drift away from the river and towards me standing next to it.
