I sit still, waiting for everyone to arrive at the garage, except for the fact that I am 3 hours too early.

I drove here after Estelle dumped her little opinion before leaving and calling a taxi.

She didn't even allow me to drive her home.

"Aldric? Don't you... agree?" She takes an awkward step towards me, I don't say anything as I watch her sigh in defeat.

"I'm sorry but it is for the best after all, I don't want them hurting us even more than how they already are." Her voice is soft, clearly upset about all of this.

I don't move, I don't even speak as I watch her bend over to grab her shoes.

But my eyes stay glued on her face, watching her expression and how her eyes are focused on putting her shoes on.

She stands up to her full height— yet still her head only reaches my shoulders.

She pulls me in for a hug, I hear her inhale my scent before pulling away from me.

"Goodbye, Aldric." She sends me her signature soft smile, one that I do not return.

I don't even answer as I stand still, her shoulders fall down in defeat as she leaves my house, her scent following after her.

I watch her leave, I want to say something— anything. But I cannot, not when I was prepared for the best. Us catching the stalker.

She never wanted this. I— we did.

She stayed for us.

___

I haven't slept ever since, and it's been about 4 to 5 hours, I feel exhausted but I can't bring myself to fall asleep.

She thinks this will stop the stalker, but the stalker was here before we even began fake dating.

I rub my eyes as I stand up from the couch and walk towards the kitchen, opening the fridge and grabbing a beer.

I fucking hate his taste in beer, but I have no choice but to suck it the fuck up.

I open the beer, ignoring the pain my hand receives in the process.

I walk back towards the couch, taking a long sip from it, I'm sitting on the spot Estelle always sits on when she comes over, and my eyes are glued to the wall she usually zones out on when we discuss our tours.

I keep taking long sips from the beer in my hand, my eyes glued to the wall.

I wait for the guys to arrive, I finally understand what Estelle means when she says the best people always find a way to disappear from your life.
