- Sabrina's Pov -

"Sabrina, pleaaaaseeee." Layla begs as we walk to the cafeteria.

I sigh and drop my head. Layla places her hand on one of my arms and starts to shake me slightly. She wants me to try out so bad, but I just can't bring myself to do it.

"Layla." I say sternly. Then, as we round the corner, I see Billy leaning against the locker with a cigarette in between his lips.

We make eye contact for a brief moment. His eyes were saying something, something that I couldn't quiet make out. As we passed him I could see how horribly bruised his face was, worse than the other day when he was on the porch.

I didn't want to be obvious so I stayed with Layla all the way to our seats in the cafeteria. My fingers tapped the table as I waited for a couple minutes.

"You okay?" Layla asks me as she sits down.

"Yeah I just need to use the bathroom."

"Go. I'll save your seat."

I smile and nod before making my way back out into the hallway. He's still leaning against the lockers, his
head is down so his curls are hanging over his face. My stomach twists a little as I stare at him, I can't deny that I think he's attractive.

"That's going to kill you." I mutter in front of him.

He scoffs and lifts his head to look at me, but doesn't say anything. His bruises are worse than I thought. I didn't want to say anything but this was bad..there's absolutely no way he "fell down the stairs" like his dad said.

"What ha-"

"Nothing." He snapped. His same cold expression stayed on his face.

"I'm sorry. I just- I'm concerned."

"Don't be. It's not your place to be concerned."

I close my mouth, continuing to stare at him. He has pain in his eyes, he always has, from the moment I first looked into them but today it's different.

He doesn't take his eyes off of me but at the same time he doesn't ever make eye contact. I can't lie, it made me stomach turn.

"Just let me help you.."

He lets out a sharp breath.

"Your cuts will get infected if they're not taken care of."

trust me. i know.

"Okay." Is all he says.

"Do you care about missing a few classes?"

There's no way I'm about to skip school with Billy Hargrove.

He chuckles. Almost as if it was offensive to ask that question. "Let's go." He mutters before making his way to the front doors.

My heart drops as I follows him. What am I going to tell Layla. She doesn't have to know.

No one has to know.

I know my parents aren't home. My dad has..well..work and even know my mom doesn't work she's always out somewhere. She doesn't like to be stuck in the house alone. I made Billy park a couple blocks down anyway though, just in case.

I unlock the door and step inside, Billy's right behind me. "You can sit there." I nod over at the bar stool. He silently walks over and sits down while I go into the kitchen and wet a washcloth. I then grab a second cloth to put medicine on.
