Chapter 26. Back at School

Sorry that this chapter is late, I was watching anime and I forgot all about it!! Sorry!! (Was rewatching Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso, or Your Lie in April, because it's such an awesome yet sad anime!!!)

Spring break was now over, which just meant that Natsume and I just had two more weeks left until the cultural festival. We were a lot better acting the parts now and we even memorized all of our lines together. I was kinda wondering how Hotaru and Ruka were doing but thought I'll ask them later.

Even though spring break was over, when I woke up I was in a cheerful mood. I was currently walking to school, and was smiling really wide and looked around me to see dew in the grass.

When I arrived at the school gate that I hadn't seen in a week, I saw students were talking to each other and gossiping like usual. But one of the gossips I heard them say caught my ear. "Hey, did you hear that someone saw Natsume participate on that couples contest at the mall over during spring break?" "Yeah, I did, it's all over the school now! I wonder who he was doing the contest with though...." The person responded.

"I don't know, but the person who told me said that she was really pretty."
I could feel my heart race in nervousness, they saw us?! Thank god I didn't wear my disguise then. I thought to myself, sighing in relief. Then I felt a little knock hit my head.

"What are yo-" I said and looked up, seeing Natsume. "Oh, morning." I said to him. "Morning." He replied, yawning. "Why did you knock my head?!" I asked him. "Hm? Oh, because you're wearing that stupid disguise again." He whispered the disguise part.

"Oh be quiet. You know why I wear this." I told him, huffing and walking ahead away from him. When I entered the school with Natsume behind me. Everyone stared at us, well, Natsume actually. It was quiet for a moment, then everyone ran over to us. Pushing me out of the way.

I ended up falling on my butt and looked to see everyone was screaming, asking questions. "Natsume-kun! Is it true that you're going out with someone?!" A girl asked. "What?! No!" I heard him reply, trying to get through everyone.

"Then, why did someone see you participating in a couples contest?" Someone else asked. I could tell he was surprised that someone saw that and he hesitated for a moment. "Just....get out of the way! I need to get to class!" He yelled, finally pushing through the group of yelling people and grabbed my shirt, starting to drag me with him to homeroom.

"H-hey! Natsume let go of me!" I yelled, as he dashed through the hallways. When everyone saw him, they all screamed his name in awe or envy, not even noticing me being dragged behind him.

When we finally got to Narumi Sensei's classroom, not a lot of kids were there yet. Panting, I said to Natsume, "why did you bring me with you?!" I yelled, with my hands on my knees. "Be quiet, it's because I didn't want them to trample over you." He whispered, then he looked the other way and crossed his arms, looking pissed.

"Why are you mad?" I asked him. "Because now everyone thinks I have a girlfriend or something and they won't stop asking me." He angrily said, and stomped up his way to his desk, which was next to mine.

About twenty or so minutes later, everyone was in class now, and they were all surrounding Natsume's desk asking him questions about why he was doing a couples contest. In response, Natsume was supposedly taking a nap under his manga like he always did. Also now most of the girls were angry, especially Luna, Sumire and their Natsume and Ruka fan club members.

Next to me I heard a loud bang, I saw that Luna slammed her hand on Natsume's desk, pissed that he kept ignoring her. "Tell me Natsume-kun!! Who were you with during this stupid couples contest and why?! Are you both dating?! If you don't tell me now I'll make my daddy find her and torture her!" She threatened.
