~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Mikan's Pov~~
BEEP BEEP BEEP!! I slammed my hand over my annoying alarm clock and groggily raised my head up to look at the time. "6:50" it read. I sighed with relief that I wasn't late like usual, after all I was going into a new school and I didn't want to be late.I got up from my bed and walked over to my closet to choose what to wear for the day. "Hmmm let's see what we have here," I mumbled to myself, picking up clothes and throwing them on the ground behind me. "Ah ha!" I exclaimed, finding the right outfit.
I turned to my door and headed out to go into the bathroom straight across my room. Once I locked the bathroom door, I looked in the mirror to see a girl with a tumbleweed of brown hazelnut colored hair. "Ugh...my hair is a mess!" I grumbled, grabbing my mess of hair.
I changed into my clothes first before I brushed my hair back to being all silky and soft. My clothes consisted of being the color of an ugly dark green t-shirt and some baggy cargo pants that made me look like a hobo sort of.
After changing, I headed back to my room and threw my pajamas on the floor. I sat in a chair with a mirror on the table, and started braiding my hair.
When I was almost done braiding my hair, I heard a voice call out, "Mikan come down now and eat your breakfast before it gets cold!"
"Coming mom!" I replied back, tying an elastic around the finished braid. I stood up from the chair and went to my night table to grab my glasses. Then I swung my backpack around my shoulder, ready for the day to start.
When I got downstairs, heaven filled my nose. Bacon and eggs. "Morning, mom, grandpa," I smiled, looking at my mom who was holding a spatula and my grandpa who was sitting at the table and reading the newspaper.
"Morning," I heard them both say in unison.
"Mikan why do you have to wear that ugly get up?" I turned to see my mother glancing me up and down.
I gave her a sad smile. "Mom you already know why though," I answered with my voice trailing off.
"Yuka, you know fully well why she has to wear that," my grandpa looked up from the newspaper.
"I know, it's just that she's so beautiful without it," my mom sighed and set the spatula down.
I sat at the table and clapped my hands together, "Thanks for the food," I said aloud, and started eating.
When I was finished eating breakfast, I got up and went to a picture of my dad on the shelf. "Watch over me today, okay dad?" I said, aloud smiling a bit.
My father died in a car accident when I was 4 years old and because of the shock of the accident, I lost some of my memories from back then. But I would never forget the memories I spent with my dad, when he picked me up and nuzzled my head or when he came to my room at night to kiss and tuck me in.
I turned around to the front door and got my shoes on. "I'll be going now," I said to my mom and grandpa.
"Have a good day at school," I heard them say while I closed the front door shut.
