chapter 9: we really did huh?

the whole campus was awake from sirens.

everyone's TV's were on playing the news.

including Crazy Lace...

everyone was in shock.

nobody knew what to do.

police radios could be heard everywhere.

all students were forced to stay inside there dorms.

this wasn't a dream.

right?

no.

it wasn't.

nobody would forget this night.

this is definitely the worst thing to ever happen at this collage.

do people believe the news?

of course they do.

everything adds up.

lapis was always so distant.

and flinchy.

we thought something was wrong.

but we never could of known how wrong.

peridot.

she was always so distant as well.

but she was just a friendless nerd.

who knew she would be so comforting.

"ok just stay here ill call the police, ill be right back" peridot said, as lapis took a deep breath.

they were finally doing it, calling the police.

jasper was going to be arrested for a long, long time.

peridot/pov

"911, what's your emergency?" the lady said over the phone "hi, my friend had been raped, and abused and- and we need help please" I said in a shakey voice. I've never called 911 before, but this is for lapis. "ma'am we don't tolerate prank calls on here I'm hanging up now" the 911 lady said "WAIT, this isn't a prank she's been trapped in a toxic relationship and she's been raped and abused for many years, please I-I promise it isn't a prank" I explained. I heard a sigh from the other end of the line "what's your friends name?" she asked. my face lit up "l-lapis lazuli" "and who has been abuseing her?" she asked "jasper beta"   (I used beta cuz she's from the beta kindergarten! get it? no? ok) "ok ma'am please stay on the line with me ill need you address so we can send someone over, they're just going to ask some questions so we can be sure of what to do" she stated in a calm voice  "we go to ******* collage and our dorm number is ***" I said while glancing over to lapis, she was watching me while shaking a little, but she looked okay for the most part. "ok ma'am, now I also need to know your name and you relation to lapis." the 911 lady told me. "m-my name is peridot gem" (idk why I went with gem its just I don't think I mentioned this but sardonyx is peridots mom cuz they both have triangle hair so I just went with gem) "and lapis is my r-roommate and b-best friend" I said 'I wish we were more than friends'  omg did I just think that!  "ok peridot my name is holly blue ill stay on the line with you until the police arrive" "o-ok, just um hold on a second" 

I pulled the phone down from my ear and looked at lapis who was still shaking "lapis the police are on there way" I told her, but all she did was nod. I could tell she was scared. I don't blame her though. I wanted to make thousands of "what if's" in my head but I had to stay strong for lapis.

I walked over to her bed where she was curled up in a ball, I slowly sat next to her as she leaned into me "d-do you want me to put it on speaker?"  I asked but she just nodded again. I put  the phone on speaker "I'm back" I said to holly blue over the line "good, now stay with me this time."

I could hear the police sirens outside our window. me and lapis both turned our heads to the window then at each other. "p-peridot w-we shouldn't of done t-this I-it was so s-stupid" lapis said after pressing the mute button on the phone "lapis, it wasn't stupid. were getting your life back right here right now." I said just as someone knocked on our door

I took a deep breath and hung up the phone without saying anything, I leaned lapis back into the corner and got up to answer the door "this is B,C,P,D we had a call about a raped and abused woman living here" the police man said (B,C,P,D stands for beach city police department)  "y-yes that's right" I said letting them in "they walked over to lapis...

lapis/ pov

4 hours later 

the police left after I told them everything. I told them about the 4 rapes, the abusive relationship, I told them about my wounds, and how messed up my life has been because of her.  the prosses of telling them took a while because I kept chocking on my own words, and I kept breaking into tears and crying into peridots shoulder.  I guess I didn't realize how traumatized I was until I had to bring up almost all of my trauma.

while I was explaining... they asked me for jaspers address and one of the them stepped to the side and made some sort of call.  a little while later they had told me that jasper was in their custody.

I felt so terrified but also so relived. I was free for the first time in my life. I wasn't trapped at my parents house, or jaspers house I was safe and free with peridot.   

it was about 8:00pm and the police had just left a few mins ago. I told peridot I didn't really want to talk for a little bit, and she understood.

I was sitting on my phone when I got two new emails from the school one was sent to everyone letting people know they could leave there rooms now, and the other one was privately sent to me? it read "dear lapis, we are fully aware of your situation and we are giving you as long as you need to recover. we want you to come back to classes whenever you are ready. preferably by the end of November. thank you."  ugh 

I felt really lonely, I wasn't lonely but it felt like it "p-peridot?" I asked while looking at her from across the room. her head perked up "yes?" she replied "can we watch that one tv show again, I want to get my mind off things?" I asked trying not to sound needy "sure!" she said while smiling. she grabed her laptop and sat next to me.

while she was setting up the show I scooted closer to her and leaned my head on her shoulder. she was so warm, but I could feel her tense up when I did this. I almost pulled away when she melted into it.  it felt so good to be close to her, I wish we could just kiss again.

AN/ AHHHHHH THEY DID IT!!!!!!!! jaspers in jail there happy that means we can focus more on there relation ship ;p *wink wink* I have some plans 😈 so just be ready. also sorry for short chapter I felt like I didn't need to write anything else here.
