After their eventful journey, they finally disembarked from the coach. Jason paid the driver in cash, and the moment they stepped off, a sleek black Audi pulled up before them. The car exuded modern elegance, its polished exterior reflecting the ambient city lights.
A well-dressed chauffeur swiftly opened the car door for them.
Kass couldn't help but express her confusion. "What's going on?" she asked, her brow furrowing in uncertainty. Jason, his eyes scanning the surroundings, replied urgently, "Just get in, quickly." He gently pushed her in.
Kass followed his lead and entered the car. Jason shut the door behind her and turned to address the rest of the group.
"Alright, guys, all of you go home and stay put overnight. Do not leave your homes. Check your emails as I will be sending out frequent updates. Work may be canceled; we'll see."
The group burst into a curious chatter, speculating on the situation, but they eventually dispersed and headed home. Jason settled into the seat beside Kass in the back of the car and instructed the driver to take them home. The electric vehicle glided silently onto the road and sped through the city.
Kass, feeling a mixture of worry and uncertainty, asked Jason, "Jason, where are we going? Shouldn't I go home?"Jason, his expression deeply concerned, replied,
"No, I'm sure if your father has found you at the camp, he'll have found your home. It's probably been ransacked; it's not safe to go there right now."Kass nodded, slowly comprehending the gravity of the situation. She gazed out of the window as the cityscape whizzed by, her thoughts a whirlwind.
Before long, they arrived at Jason's impressive mansion, a sprawling structure of grandeur. It featured sleek, square shapes and large glass windows, with an expansive driveway accommodating several other black luxury cars. Kass was awed by the mansion's sheer size and opulence.
As the car approached the gates, the driver communicated through the intercom, announcing their arrival. The gates gracefully slid open, granting access to the estate. Kass was so captivated by the mansion that she glued her face to the window, taking in every detail. Jason couldn't help but chuckle at her amazement.
A chauffeur ran up to the car and opened the door for Kass. She stepped out, taking in her surroundings. Jason came up from behind her, wrapping his arms around her waist, and whispered in her ear, "I think it's time you stayed over at my house. You'll be so much safer here."
Taking her hand, Jason guided her inside, offering a brief tour of the mansion so she wouldn't feel lost. Then, he summoned one of the housemaids. The woman appeared, dressed in smart yet relaxed black attire, her hair neatly pulled up into a bun. She had striking features, large grey eyes, and cupid-like lips.
