The investigator pressed a button on their recording device and initiated the proceedings. "Donovan Grimshaw, Case 105, found guilty of Assault with intent to murder, attempted murder, attempted kidnapping, possession of drugs and weapons, involvement in the drug trade, selling prohibited substances, failure to repay debts, robbery, and multiple assault charges. Time: 11:30 am. Let's begin," the investigator announced.Nervously, Kass glanced at their lawyer, hoping he would take the lead. Catching on, the lawyer pivoted to face Donovan, who leaned back and smirked, as if the entire situation was a grand joke to him. His demeanor repulsed Jason; had they not been in the station, he would have shot him by now.

The lawyer initiated the questioning with Donovan, who reclined in his chair, an air of nonchalance across his face as if he weren't embroiled in serious accusations.

''What connection do you have to the individuals involved in these allegations?'' The corners of Donovan's mouth curled upwards as he leaned forward. 'I'm her father, obviously,' he remarked, subtly indicating Kass while his hands remained restrained behind his back. 'As for that guy, I don't know him,' he declared brazenly. Jason, sensing the deception, intervened politely, 'Do you have any association with Take Offices?' He maintained a composed demeanor. 'Well, now that you mention it,' Donovan tilted his head to the side, grinning. 'Perhaps I owe them a little bit of money.' Jason motioned for the investigator to record this statement before allowing the lawyer to proceed with further questions."

The question that followed was, "What drove you to find Kass and launch an attack?" Donovan cackled wildly, his chest quivering from the laughter. The space fell silent as everyone anticipated his laughter to subside and provide a response. After a while, Donovan's laughter ceased, but he staunchly refused to answer. Instead, he merely smirked, keeping his unwavering gaze fixed on Kass, penetrating into her being. Kass sat there, perspiring, feeling deeply frightened and uneasy under the weight of his maniacal stare. Jason observed Donovan, feeling his anger intensify.

The lawyer kept at it, not giving up. He whipped out a computer and showed a bunch of CCTV videos where Donovan was wandering around, especially in the Taka offices and Jason's place. Those clips even caught him breaking into both spots. "You recognize yourself in these videos?" the lawyer asked. Donovan squinted at them and snickered. "Who knows, man? There are loads of people who could pass for me. Could be anyone," he denied. Not seeing the point in showing more proof, the lawyer switched gears.

The subsequent question was, "What feelings or responses do these accusations stir within you, and why?" Jason gazed at his lawyer, a mix of confusion and a hint of anger on his face, but the lawyer persisted. Donovan took his time considering, and eventually uttered, "Huh. You're asking how I feel?"

Donovan tensed up. "I want her dead. DEAD. Why isn't she dead? I've been trying so hard. WHY WON'T YOU DIE..." He screamed at Kass, shoving at the table, causing it to rock. Kass cried out and pushed back, tumbling off her chair. "SHUT THE FUCK UP!" Jason yelled at Donovan as the police restrained him. Donovan's lawyer sat beside him, looking pale-faced. With mounting evidence against his client and Donovan's behavior, there was little he could do to defend him. The investigator shackled Donovan to his chair to prevent him from thrashing about and resumed the interview. Kass just wanted it all to end. She felt emotionally battered, unable to endure it any longer.

Jason's lawyer wore a baffled expression, a mix of confusion and fear etched on his face. He anxiously flipped through his notes, realizing that it was futile to pose any more questions to a man grappling with mental instability. "No more questions," the lawyer announced. However, Jason, seething with anger, disregarded the lawyer's directive, insisting, "I have questions."

The investigator, acknowledging Jason's determination, permitted him to proceed. "Why are you so keen to kill Kass? What leverage does she hold against you? Dirt information?" Jason pressed, his curiosity undeterred.Donovan, his gaze peering out from beneath unkempt, oily locks of hair, hung his head low. "You wouldn't comprehend, you cunt. Living in luxury, swimming in your wealth. Get the fuck out of my sight, you worthless piece of shit. My daughter shouldn't associate with someone like you."

Jason, seething with anger, abruptly sat upright and slammed his hand on the table. "Who are you to dictate Kass's life? She'll make her own choices and won't take orders from a mentally unstable dick like you. All those attempts to harm us, all failed – I find it laughable. I'd laugh right in your face. You'll never be rid of us." Jason's authority intensified as Donovan grew increasingly furious.

Donovan muttered a curse under his breath. "Mark my words. One day, she'll walk in and find your throat split in two, your cock cut into dessert and your eyeballs.." he threatened, but before he could finish, he was interrupted. "ENOUGH." Donovan's lawyer, a short and nervous, sweaty man, stood up. "I'm leaving. This is beyond a case I can handle..." The lawyer hastily departed, abandoning his files.

Donovan erupted into a maniacal laughter. "Why did I even hire that fool? I'll arrange that he's taken care of..."

The investigator intervened sternly, stating, "The only arrangement being made is your arrest, Mr. Grimshaw." With a surplus of incriminating evidence against him, Donovan was promptly placed under arrest.

Kass stormed out of the room, having been immobilized with fear throughout the ordeal. She had been frozen in her seat, sweating and unable to move or even lift her gaze. The piercing, maniacal gaze of her father felt predatory, as if she were his prey.Jason hurried after Kass, leaving his lawyer sitting forlornly, grappling with doubts about his performance. Kass walked down the hallway, appearing distraught, moving as though she were in a daze, her fright evident as she wailed in distress. "Kass, Kass!" Jason called out, rushing to her and enveloping her in an embrace. "He's gone, alright? Gone. He's in prison, he can't escape, he can't hurt you. You're safe. You're safe," he reassured her, speaking softly as he held her close, running his hand through her hair in an attempt to provide solace. Her sobs began to ease.

"It's too much for me, Jason," she murmured in a shaky voice.

"He's gone. That's what matters. He won't hurt us again," Jason assured her, holding her securely, trying to convey comfort in every gesture and word. "We'll get through this together, I promise." He continued to hold her, offering the warmth of his presence to console her in that distressing moment.
