Kass jolted awake as Jason rushed into her room, urgency written all over his face. His touch on her shoulder was firm, yet gentle as he shook her awake. She blinked in confusion, trying to make sense of the situation.
"There's an emergency," Jason whispered urgently, holding up a folded piece of paper.
''One of the security guards had intercepted a man sneaking around the house and had found a gun and this letter on him.'' Kass's heart raced as she tried to grasp the gravity of the situation.
Jason's fingers trembled with fury as he tore open the letter and began reading its contents. Kass's curiosity got the better of her, and she nervously asked, "What is it?"Jason's scowl deepened, and he quickly pocketed the letter, not allowing Kass to see it. "It's nothing," he said, though the tension in his voice betrayed his words. He checked his phone and found an onslaught of notifications.
Meanwhile, Kass's phone buzzed incessantly, notifications flooding in from her colleagues. Panic seized her as she read the messages. They all contained warnings about an unknown assailant, presumably her father, who had resorted to spreading malicious rumors about her. The texts accused her of having an affair, engaging in criminal activities, and using her colleagues for nefarious purposes.
Kass's hands trembled as she showed the messages to Jason, her voice quivering. His eyes flashed with anger as he read each message, his jaw clenched in frustration. "I swear, when we catch that motherfucker," he muttered through gritted teeth, "he will not see the light of day again."
Quickly dressing, Kass followed Jason downstairs to confront the intruder. Security guards stood vigilant, guarding the room where the mysterious man was being held.Jason offered Kass a way out, asking if she'd prefer to stay outside. However, her determination to get answers compelled her to go inside with him."Kass, do you want to stay outside?" Jason inquired, his gaze unwavering."No," she replied firmly, her voice resolute.
''Are you sure? Things could get heated..'' He warned her. Kass stood her ground.
Inside the dimly lit room, a disheveled man, clad in a black hoodie and dark joggers, was handcuffed to a chair. The atmosphere was charged with tension, and the room seemed ready to explode.Jason's attempts to extract information from the man proved futile initially. The intruder remained obstinate, refusing to cooperate.
"Who sent you?" Jason asked, his voice edged with tension, clenching his fists at his sides.
The man before him remained defiant, lips tightly sealed as he stared back, unyielding. "I ain't saying," he stubbornly replied, an arrogant smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth.
Fed up with the man's defiance, Jason's patience snapped. He grabbed the intruder by the collar of his hoodie, forcefully hoisting him off the ground until they were face to face. "Answer my question right now, you little f*cker, or there will be consequences."Jason hissed, his eyes boring into the man's with a mixture of anger and desperation.
Defiantly, the intruder laughed in Jason's face, pushing him further over the edge. Kass, her fear mounting, pressed herself against the wall, unsure of what to expect next.
Jason's self-control shattered. He forcefully hurled the man onto the floor, his rage taking over, unleashing a flurry of kicks. Kass felt a surge of panic. She had never seen this side of him before, and the intensity of the situation was overwhelming.
Through gritted teeth, Jason demanded answers once more, his anger still simmering beneath the surface. The intruder, now cowed and terrified, surrendered to the inevitable.
"That girl's father sent me," he stammered out, his voice trembling with fear. "He's trackin' her down, batsh*t crazy to find her, he is. She's got summit on 'im. Some information or submit."
With that revelation, Jason unleashed one final kick, venting his pent-up frustration, before abruptly storming out of the room, leaving the intruder battered and broken on the floor
and Kass in the wake of the chaotic encounter. She cautiously followed him, her voice trembling as she approached him.
Without words, Jason leaned against the wall, taking deep breaths as he attempted to regain his composure. Realizing the impact of his violent outburst on Kass, he knew he owed her an apology.
"I'm extremely sorry you had to see that," he said, his voice laden with remorse. "I warned you to stay outside."
Kass embraced him tightly, her fear gradually giving way to relief as she felt the warmth of his arms around her. "Jason, it's alright. I was just worried you would lash out at me because it seemed like you had kind of lost it..."He held her close, his voice sincere and reassuring. "I would never do that. I'd never hurt you. ''
''Even if I lose it, there's no way I'd lay a finger on you."
