The coach driver knocked on Jason's door. ''She's dead, sir.''
'Who's dead?' Kass asked.
'The engine.' The coach driver replied. The coach had broken down.
"Oh no... how far away from the campsite are we?" Kass asked, a hint of concern in her voice."About 50 minutes, if we were to keep driving. By foot, probably more than an hour," the coach driver replied, holding his hat in disappointment.
Jason stood up, determined to handle the situation. "It's alright; we'll figure something out. Let me make an announcement on the speakers." Moments later, Jason's deep voice resonated through the coach's speakers. "The coach has broken down, meaning we are stranded here for the meanwhile. If everyone could please stay in their compartments, it would be appreciated. We will update you when we have more information."
Despite Jason's request, Juliet clearly ignored the rules and ran straight to find Kass. "Babes, you're getting your wish. More time to spend with the new boo, maybe just not in the right context," Juliet teased Kass."Hush, he's coming back," Kass shushed Juliet as Jason returned down the corridor."Hey, Juliet, what happened?" Jason inquired."Nothing, just wanted to see if Kass was okay," Juliet made up an excuse.
"Of course she is, she's with me. You can trust me," Jason reassured, sliding an arm around Kass's waist. Kass turned a cute shade of pink. Juliet gave Kass a knowing look before smirking and returning to her compartment.
Jason's face tensed as he dialed the number for the recovery providers. He engaged in a conversation that seemed to drag on, the expression on his face shifting from concern to frustration. Kass observed from a distance, sensing the weight of responsibility on his shoulders. The reassurance from the recovery providers did little to ease the growing impatience within the group. Two seemingly endless hours passed, the tension palpable in the air. Finally, a new coach appeared on the horizon, but Jason's reaction wasn't one of relief. He stormed out to confront the arriving driver, his disappointment evident.
"Where were you? It's been two hours," Jason's voice maintained a strained politeness."Sorry mate, it was a long drive here. You know how it is," the driver responded with a casual shrug. Kass admired Jason's efforts to keep his composure, recognizing the strides he was making to manage his temper.Jason, though visibly displeased, chose not to dwell on the delay. "It doesn't matter. You're here now. Let's get everyone on board."
Derek, Jason, and the office crew sprang into action, efficiently transferring luggage to the replacement coach. Kass offered her assistance, placing her arms across Jason's back. "Do you need help?""No, it's okay, Kass. You can go inside and rest. I'll be there soon." Jason's gesture was tender as he leaned down to plant a soft kiss on her forehead. Derek's teasing laughter echoed through the air, triggering snickers from the other guys. Unfazed, Jason continued with the luggage transfer. He was in blissful heaven.
