"Your brother is a famous man, my girl! I just happened to look at a magazine that was featuring your brother's face on the cover. One look at him and I was sure that he is my son. Moreover, Goeun has changed his surname but she never changed his name. So, I was sure about him," Only then did he come to know his wife's surname.
Lisa nodded her head. The first time when he removed the artificial skin from his face, she thought she was seeing her brother.
Except for his eyes, everything about Taehyung was similar to Gong Yoo, even some of their character traits. So, it would be a wonder if he couldn't recognize his son after seeing him.
"What about Lili? How did you find her?" Jungkook asked.
"I investigated into the Kim Family. There might be many people with the surname Kim but the one who can stop the Gongs from doing something is certainly only one. This time, it wasn't just a doubt. I was almost sure about it," Master Gong sighed. It was almost after a few months that his intuition turned out to be right when he received the result.
But what came out as a surprise was Lisa. He was stunned to know that the Kim Family heiress was not his son but a girl named Lisa.
"You were abroad at that time and I did not get to know more about you. So, I still did not have any idea that you were my daughter."
But he slowly stopped living in the dark after getting to know that his son was alive and fine. The Gong Family looked peaceful at that time, but it was all due to Old Master Gong who remained unyielding to the harsh circumstances.
He started helping his father in business while investigating more about the Kim Family. He wanted to be strong enough before meeting Taehyung.
He was always known to be an enigma but he was self-conscious when it came to his son. He did not want to approach him and put him in danger. Instead, what he wanted was to eliminate all the dangers and threats before meeting him.
"But my resolve started to crumble when I saw Lali," He mumbled. The men he had assigned for Taehyung coincidentally spotted the Kim siblings dining in the Ultraviolet a year ago.
The discovery of having a daughter had left him stunned for a few days. The Gong father-son duo was beyond happy when they got to know the news.
He never once doubted that she was not his daughter for a few reasons. First of all, his children resembled him in one way or another. Lisa's striking hazel eyes were enough proof to state the connection between them. Secondly, her age could shut them up who held doubts.
"I tried to approach you but it seemed impossible to do that without endangering your lives. It went on for a few months until I gave up on the idea. So, just like father suggested, I waited patiently as we started preparing for the evening ball that is organized every year," A nostalgic smile appeared on the man's face. He could still remember the way his heart was beating in anticipation of seeing his children. How happy and excited he was to talk to them!
Everything went on as they planned. But that was until the Kim siblings started doubting their intentions.
"In the end, I was too impulsive," the man still had a lingering fear of that day. He couldn't imagine what would've happened if Jungkook hadn't reached there at the right time. Maybe he would've lost his daughter forever.
He sighed as he turned around to look at Lisa and a smile formed on his lips when he looked at his babygirl who was already sleeping peacefully at some point.
Jungkook and Taehyung followed his gaze only to find her sleeping on the dining table with her chin being supported by her palm.
They were so immersed in the whole thing that they failed to realize when she slept.
Taehyung's cold face softened, "Always sleeping like a pig," he murmured before he looked at Jungkook, "You should take her to the bedroom, it's not good for her to sleep here. Dad and I will be leaving soon."
He nonchalantly stood up as he walked out of the villa, pretending like he didn't just do something so unusual.
Dad!? Was it really Taehyung? And what's up with this runn..cough... walking away so fast?
Master Gong lips tilted up in a soft smile as he shook his head at his son's childishness before he glanced at Jungkook. His gaze darkened, "You better take care of her. If I see a small scratch on her, you better be ready to face my lawyer as I file for my daughter's divorce," he coldly said as he tucked his hands inside his pockets and walked out.
"_"
The man who was holding Lisa in a princess carry froze. He was speechless. What has he done?
Though he couldn't comprehend anything of what Master Gong said, one word constantly rang inside his head.
Divorce!? His gaze turned cold as he looked at the woman in his arms, "You're not leaving me again, I'll not let you leave," His grip on her instinctively tightened.
