The Unexpected Twin

My first week at Hogwarts has gone amazingly! Not only is Luna my dorm mate but our other dorm mate Cho is amazing as well! I can tell we are all gonna be the best of friends! I have every class with Luna except for Potions but weirdly enough Fred is in my potions class which is weird since he's 2 years older than me. Fred and I have grown very close he even lets me help with his pranks every now and then! I was pretty excited about today. Today we had our first official flying lesson! All the first years had this class at the same time which means I get to be with Luna! But that also means my brother will be there too. Hopefully there's enough people there that I can just avoid him. I have flown before with my mother so flying isn't something foreign to me. I'm actually quite good at it!

Luna and I make our way to class and as we are walking, we see Fed talking to a group of his friends. He smiles at me and I give him a smile back. My cheeks turn a bright red. Luna notices "when are you gonna tell him?" I look at her confused. "Tell him what?" Luna stops and stands in front of me. "That you like him silly goose."  My face turns as red as a tomato. I look over at Fred with his friends. "I've only just met him a week ago! It would be crazy to tell him." Luna smiles. "At least you finally admit though." My jaw dropped. Do I like Fred? He makes me feel safe and I feel like I could tell him anything.

Luna and I are one of the last ones to arrive to flying class. We go and grab our brooms and get into the line with everyone else. I'm standing next to Neville Longbottom and Luna and I look up and across from me I see my twin brother avoiding my existence.

Madam Hooch walks in between the lines. "Welcome to flying lessons!" She says ecstatically. "Well, what are you waiting for? Everyone step up to the left side of their broomstick. Come on now, hurry up. Stick your right hand over the broom and say, 'Up.'"

"Up!" You say as your broom immediately flies into your hand. You look around smiling as Luna gets it as well. You see your brother struggling a bit and you snicker. Madam Hooch tells everyone to have more feeling and you look over at Neville to see if he needs help.

"Up!" He says with feeling as his broom shot up and whacked him in the face. Everyone started laughing even Neville. You look over and your brother finally gets it and he has a proud smirk on his face and you roll your eyes.

Madam Hooch looks at everyone proudly! "Now, once you've got hold of your broom, I want you to mount it. And grip it tight, you don't want to be sliding off the end."The class mounts on their broomsticks. "When I blow my whistle, I want each of you to kick off from the ground, hard. Keep your broom steady, hover for a moment, then lean forward slightly and touch back down. On my whistle. 3, 2, 1!" She blows her whistle and you immediately kick off with the biggest smile on your face. As everyone else does what Hooch tells them to you get the urge to fly around a little bit. You take off on your broom and take a lap around the yard. You have a huge smile on your face. You love to fly! You love the feeling of wind in your hair and you touch your mother's necklace knowing she would be proud if she were here. You fly by a window and you see Fred staring out of it not paying attention to his class and you stick your tongue out at him as you fly past. You hear Madam Hooch screaming for you to come land your broom so you immediately stop your joy ride and land still having a huge smile on your face.

"Y/N!" Madam Hooch yells. "As impressive as that was that was not the instructions! Detention tonight!" You look at Madam Hooch and apologize. After class everyone comes over and asks about how you did it telling you how awesome that was. Behind the group of people you see your brother giving you the death stare. He rolls his eyes and him and his group of friends walk away.

Luna goes to her next class and Fred meets up with me. "Hey y/n!" I smile at him "Oh hey Freddie!" He starts to walk with me to potions. "So how was your flying lesson?" He looks at me very intrigued. "A lot better than your class went by the looks of it." You both laugh . "But I did get detention but it was definitely worth it!" Fred stops cold in his tracks and his jaw drops. You look back at him and laugh "What you big goof?" He looks at you. "You got detention in your first week! I didn't know you had it in you!" He laughs as he walks by you putting his arm around your shoulder. Your face goes bright red hoping Fred doesn't notice. "I didn't know you had it in you kiddo!" You laugh. "Oh ya like you haven't gotten a detention before." Fred laughs at your statement. "Oh I live in detention!" You both keep laughing as you walk into potions.
