The Unexpected Twin

Y/N's POV

I woke up in a strange place. It was completely white. My ears were ringing and my sight still blurry. Was this heaven? Did I die? I started hearing a weird beeping and a strange hissing sound. My sight came back and I was in a hospital. It wasn't the Hospital Wing but it was St Mungo's.

I tried to sit up but I was too weak to move. I looked around and realized the beeping from a heart monitor and the hissing was a medical ventilator. How long was I out for? A nurse walked in with a tray of medical supplies and immediately dropped it when she noticed I was awake. I tried to flash her a smile but she quickly ran out and grabbed the doctor.

I was left alone again. I had so many questions and no one to ask them too. The doctor came in and took a bunch of tests. I tried asking him some questions but he wouldn't answer. They finally took me off of the ventilator and told me I was lucky to be alive.

I was terrified. I just wanted to know what happened! Did someone catch me? Did the lightning hit me? Did we win the match? I had so many questions and very little answers. A nurse finally came in and asked me if I get up to a visitor. I was very excited. I wonder who it was?

A little while later someone ran into my room. He just stared at me. He looked like he got hit by a truck. But it was the familiar face I loved to see. It was Fred! He ran over and sat next to me. "Y/N? Is it really you? Are you really awake?" He asked as he grabbed my hand. The feeling felt familiar. Just like when he held my hand after I got beat up by Draco. Wait! I remember him! I remember everything!

"Of course I am Goof. You can't get rid of me that easily." I said with a smile. His eyes widen and he looked up at me. "Goof? You haven't called me that since before break. Does that mean you finally remember?" He said smiling. "I remember everything Freddie. I'm sorry I didn't believe you. But what I don't know is what happened? Why am I here?" Fred looked down and his thumb circled my hand.

"You've been in a coma for over a month. You see during the last Quidditch match it started raining pretty hard. Everyone tried to stop the game but Wood and Davies didn't want to. It was too important to them. We heard cracks of thunder but no one could've imagined what was gonna happen next. Lightning hit your broom causing it to snap in half. You screamed my name for me to catch you but I was too slow. By the time I got to you I only got ahold of your necklace and broke it off. Next thing I know they are taking you off to the Hospital Wing and since school ended and you still were in your coma they brought you here. I'm really sorry Y/N. I'm sorry I failed you."

"You didn't fail me Freddie. You tried your best. You are here now and that's all that matters." I raise my arm and it starts to shake as I grab his face. Fred puts his hand on mine as he smiles. "You should get some rest hun." Fred says as he gets up to leave. "Can you please stay with me? I'm scared." I look at him. I really didn't want him to leave. I could finally remember who he was. I couldn't lose him again. "Of course I will." He says as he sits back down and grabs ahold of my hand.

Fred's POV

Y/N fell asleep rather quickly. I sat there admiring her. The nurse came in. "Can I speak with you out in the hall please?" She asked me. I looked at Y/N who was sound asleep. I let go of her hand and went out in the hallway with the nurse. "Is everything okay?" I ask her. "She is set to be discharged in a couple days but we have had problems in contacting her parents." I shake my head. "Don't bother. They don't care about her. It's a complicated situation." The nurse flips through her paperwork. "Well technically I'm not supposed to discharge her unless a parent or guardian is present but I won't tell if you won't." I looked at her confused. "What do you mean?" She wrote something down on her paperwork. "She can go home as long as it is with you but it has to be our little secret. Obviously you care very much about her. I have a feeling you will take care of her." I smiled at her. "I will! Thank you!"

I go back inside and take her hand. She woke up and looked at me sleepily. "It's okay hun. Go back to sleep everything will be okay now. I promise!"
