(Y/n's POV)

I scream as I fall! I have a terrible fear of heights, and I'm starting to think that this is how I'm going to die! I squeeze my eyes shut and start mumbling a prayer. After a few seconds, light shines through my closed eyelids, and I open my eyes to see that I'm in a land made of. . . candy? I look down, and I let out a shriek when I see that I'm getting closer to the ground.

However, instead of landing on hard ground, I land in a deep pond of something brown. I swim up to the surface, gasping for air once I reach it and coughing out the liquid that got into my mouth, but then I notice something. The liquid tastes delicious. Out of curiosity, I cup my hands and scoop up some of the liquid and taste it.

     "Chocolate?" I question.

(Third Person POV)

Something hits (Y/n)'s head, and she catches the object, which turns out to be her phone. Her phone dings, and she sees a text message that says "Welcome to Sugar Rush!" (Y/n) climbs out of the chocolate pond. Her hair and clothes (we'll say you're wearing a T-shirt of your choice, denim shorts, socks, and shoes) are completely drenched. She looks around, in awe of her sugary surroundings. It's definitely something that would put the world of Candyland to shame.

"This is Sugar Rush? Please, God, don't let this be a dream!" (Y/n) prays, not wanting to wake up ever.

She then hears the sound of cheering nearby, and she puts her phone in her pocket as she follows the sound of the cheering. She hides behind some lollipop trees, and she feels her heart swell with excitement when she sees the Sugar Rush racers—except for King Candy—at the finish line. There are boxes lined up on the other side of the track filled with people made of candy. The box in the middle looks taller than the others, and there is a green sour ball in it.

"Citizens of Sugar Rush," he says in a flat, deep voice, sounding like he doesn't get much sleep, into a microphone. "All hail our rightful ruler, King Candy."

The curtain in the tallest box opens to reveal King Candy himself.

"Hello, my loyal subjects! Have some candy!" he says with a slight lisp as he throws handfuls of candy to the crowd. "Thank you for that stirring introduction, Sour Bill."

"Well, he seems nice," (Y/n) mumbles to herself.

King Candy takes the microphone and continues talking.

"And thank you to today's avatars. It was a wonderful day of racing, it was. But now the arcade is closed, so it's time to wipe the slate clean and race to decide our new roster. The first nine racers across that finish line will represent Sugar Rush as tomorrow's avatars!" he announces.

The candy crowd chants "RACE!" over and over again.

"Yes, okay. Calm down. Listen, this event is pay-to-play, we all know this. The fee to compete is one gold coin. . ." King Candy pulls out a gold coin, as well as the other racers. ". . . from your previous winnings, if you've ever won, which. . ." He chuckles. ". . . I have. Let me go first!"

He pulls a rope and tosses his coin onto a red lollipop which flips it into a huge cup. King Candy's name appears on a contestant board, and his name is announced. The other racers start doing the same thing. A racer at the end of the line walks up. (Y/n) is unable to recognize this racer, since her hair is concealed by a hoodie and she is wearing goggles. The racer kisses her coin and puts it on the lollipop. When it is flung up to the cup, (Y/n) notices something off about the coin; there appears to be a blue ribbon attached to it. King Candy seems to notice the last racer as he puts his gloves and helmet and goggles on.
