(Y/n's POV)
Felix uses his hammer to fix the finish line. Vanellope is in her kart, and Ralph is standing behind her. Turbo is standing next to me, making sure I don't fall, even though he got me a sturdy candy cane to support myself with.
"All fixed," Felix announces.
"You ready for this?" Ralph asks Vanellope.
"As ready as I'll ever be," she replies.
Ralph gently pushes Vanellope's kart across the finish line. As soon as she crosses the finish line, it lights up, and Vanellope is lifted out of her kart and twirls around as she is surrounded by magic sparkles.
"Whoa! What's with all the magic sparkles?" Vanellope questions, wondering what the heck is going on.
A pink princess dress and white gloves appear on Vanellope, a crown appears on her head, and a wand appears in her hand. As soon as her feet touch the ground, the entire landscape resets, turning back into the beautiful land I arrived in. The faces of the citizens suddenly brighten, as if they have just snapped out of some sort of evil spell. Sour Bill, who has a lollipop tree limb stuck to his back (?), steps forward.
"Now I remember," he says. "All hail the rightful ruler of Sugar Rush: Princess Vanellope."
My jaw practically hits the ground when I hear this! Vanellope is a princess?!
"I remember! She's our princess!" Taffyta gasps.
"Oh, that's right!" Candlehead realizes.
"We are so sorry about the way we treated you," Taffyta apologizes to Vanellope.
"Yeah, those were, uh, jokes," Rancis adds.
"I was just doing what Taffyta told me to do!" Candlehead blurts out, pointing an accusing finger at Taffyta.
"Tut-tut," Vanellope says in a regal voice. "As your merciful princess, I hereby decree that everyone who was ever mean to me shall be. . . executed."
Everyone looks at her with horror and shock. The racers start crying and pleading for their lives. Even Sour Bill looks worried, which is surprising because I've only seen him without any emotion on his face. I place a protective arm in front of Turbo, knowing that he would definitely be executed for what he's done.
"Ah, I'm just kiddin'! Stop crying, Taffyta," Vanellope says.
Taffyta, who is a total mess, tries to stop crying.
"I'm trying! It won't stop!" she says through her tears.
I use my candy cane to limp over to Vanellope.
"I don't believe it. One of my best friends is a princess," I say, and Ralph joins me.
"Wow. So this is the real you, huh. Princess," he says.
"Aw, you guys, what are you, nuts? Come on, this isn't me," Vanellope states, and she glitches out of the dress and into her racing outfit. "This is me."
I look at Vanellope with shock. She can still glitch? But I thought she wouldn't be a glitch anymore when she crossed the finish line. Even Turbo looks surprised.
"Look, the code may say I'm a princess, but I know who I really am, you guys," she says. "I'm a racer with the greatest superpower ever. I was here, I was there. I was glitching through the walls. I'm not giving that up."
She glitches to a few different spots as she explains. I guess I can't blame her. She does have a pretty awesome power. Wynnchel then steps forward.
