In doubt of truth
I sailed the shores
Of blue-green seas
And purple moors.
I landed here
Upon the sands
Of untold sights
And lying lands.
A sparrow squawked
Its song to me
The notes did fly
Above the sea
He looked at I
With asking eyes
That wondered when
Ambition dies.
I stepped ashore,
Anchored the boat
Looked to the sky;
And cleared my throat
And wondered why
I’d anchored here
When a better
Place was near.
Here I’ve wandered
Through the mists
Of doubting dreams;
Fantastical twists
Lost in thought:
In thought I’m lost
Oblivious to
The life I’ve tossed.
