~ Planet Dusaro ~

Ireyna stood facing the window in Mara's bedroom, watching the city lights glimmer amid vehicles and pedestrians. It was a sight uncommon on Monshalow, even in fairy cities. Music played the Dusaran disco disco all night long, rendering it the planet that never slept, since there were only seven hours of daylight; the rest was nighttime.

Killian was asleep. The dark red bedcovers concealed his lower body but not his shirtless chest, allowing a sexy view of his handsome physical appearance. The pleasant night was soothing to Killian, but Ireyna couldn't sleep, awakening hours after spending time together as husband and wife.

City lights danced across Ireyna's sultry royal purple night dress, the satin material curving around her slim body, encasing it in luxury and grandeur that exhibited the vibe of the city night life.

Her wings glowed behind her bare back, exuding an everlasting night light. Opalescent tears misted her sparkly blue eyes, her thoughts taunting her with the decision she finally made.

Ireyna turned from the window, going over towards the bed. Ireyna kissed Killian on the cheek and touched his hair, giving him an extra kiss on the lips, before quietly changing into a more appropriate dress.

Summer was on the brink of autumn, even here on Dusaro, so Ireyna wore a dark royal purple dress with buttons along the long sleeves and the front bodice. The dress was so long it touched her black boots. Ireyna kept her hair down, rarely wearing it up, unless Mara styled it in an elegant half-up half-down hairstyle.

Ireyna opened a purple umbrella and walked out of the apartment, stepping onto the cold wet pavement. Rain fell heavily, beating on the umbrella, but it didn't bend, made of the same steel bone casing as Ireyna's corset underneath her dress.

Ireyna recalled the turn of events that happened shortly after her arrival on Dusaro.

Killian was unusually clingy. From the moment Ireyna and Drave arrived at the apartment, Killian seized Ireyna, adamant to keep her close. Ireyna did not get any personal space that day; Killian literally clung to her arm as he vented about the Dusaran disaster called the Rose Doom.

Ireyna listened, realizing he simply needed to be reassured and comforted. Ireyna understood the emotional trauma Killian endured with his former wife, how it negatively impacted his self-image, bringing him to a state of low self-esteem.

Mara cheered him up and brought joy. Ireyna gave him peace and sincere love. Drave ensured he would always be there for Killian. Erasmo's mischief promised a lack of boredom, uplifting the day in his sparkly way.

Seeing how the Rose Doom affected Killian and why he took it so personally, Ireyna comforted his emotional needs in the best way to comfort a man, taking him to the bedroom and complimenting his physical attractiveness, and spending the night with him to further assure him of his strengths.

Ireyna walked in search of a place to get coffee and pancakes. Ireyna wanted to enjoy some breakfast while getting a few groceries. There was nothing in the refrigerator; Mara and Drave always made sure to empty the fridge before leaving on an assignment, to avoid moldy and spoiled food.

The rain soothed Ireyna, easing troubled thoughts from her mind. By the time she returned to the apartment with coffee, pancakes, and groceries, the restlessness disappeared, and Ireyna felt rejuvenated.

Drave was happy when he saw Ireyna enter the apartment with food and groceries. He helped her unpack, placing the wet umbrella in a place to dry.

Moments later, a fully clothed Killian joined Ireyna and Drave at the kitchen table, pleased with the delightful surprise of coffee and pancakes. He noticed it wasn't the Rose Doom coffee but one of the smaller chains that was a favorite of the Decuir siblings. There were rose petals in every latte cup, perfectly blended with steamed milk that foamed marvelously.
