Sammy's POV:

This morning I woke up to Grandmother two inches away from my face.

"Get up. I need you and Luc to go the store in town to pick up stuff from my list." She pulled me up, with strength any old lady shouldn't have.

I looked at my clock to it was 5 in the morning! "Grandmother Vivian! Why do I have to go right now?" I flopped back onto the bed, only to be picked up again.

"Aaron and Luc are the only two who have their license, but Aaron is still asleep and I didn't want to wake him up."

"Of course he was sleeping! It's 5 in the morning!" I whisper yelled. "Besides doesn't that mean you had to wake up Lucien?"

"No, he is rarely asleep past 4:30."

My jaw dropped, "How is that possible?"

"The boy has a really hard time sleeping. He survives off of 5 hours of sleep every night. Now get ready Luc is already in the car. You can sleep on the 45 minute drive into town." She walked out, finalizing that I had to go right now.

I got dressed and walked down the driveway to the car. I slid in the passenger seat and smiled over at Lucien. He smiled back and started to drive.

I interrupted the comfortable silence, "I'm so sleepy! I don't know how you can drive." I chuckled a little and struggled to keep my eyes open.

He looked over to me and pulled over on the side of the road. He went to the trunk, grabbed a blanket, opened my door, leaned my seat back, and covered me up with blanket. He walked back over and got back in the driver's seat.

I snuggled into the blanket so just my eyes were showing. "Thank you, Lucien."

He looked over and smiled at me, "Sleep. We can't have you falling asleep in the grocery store." He patted my leg and rubbed it a little. When he went to pull it away I grabbed it and put it back. He stiffened for a minute the relaxed and rubbed my leg again.

"You rubbing my leg makes me so sleepy." I was barely awake.

"Your brother would kill me if he knew I was rubbing your calves." He chuckled.

"Don't worry," I yawned. "I won't let him hurt you." I patted his arm. "Your my favorite."

I fell asleep and missed the blush that lit up his face.

When we arrived to the store, Lucien softly woke me up. "Samanthaaa, Samanthaaa, wake up sleepy baby."

I got up and stretched my back. I turned to look at him and smiled. "Are you ready?" I asked while folding the blanket.

"Yeah, let's go." He opened his door and walked over to mine.

"What you doing?" I laughed when he opened my door.

"Opening your door. Hasn't anyone done that for you?" He grabbed my bag from inside, handed it to me, and closed the door.

When I was silent in thought he asked again, "Hasn't anyone opened your door?" now a little curious.

After a little more thought I answered, "No. My dad only did that for my mom and his mom, my brother made it a race to in and out of the car, and I've never dated anyone before. I've never had my door opened for me before you!" I stood there in shock.

"You've never dated anyone?" He asked me like it was an impossible thing.

I shrugged, "I never even had friends, so why would I ever have a boyfriend?"

"You don't need friends to have a boyfriend."

"Well no one wanted to talk me to be my friend so why would someone talk to me to date me?" I explained.

He nodded for a little bit before grabbing a cart. We walked around and grabbed items of the list while talking about random things.

I looked at Grandmother's list the looked again, "What does that say?" Her handwriting is very loopy cursive and it's killing me. "Those loops are so big that I could fit my head through them."

He looked at what I am talking about and laughed. "Oh, that is macaroni. I've been shopping for the women for two years. I know how to read her writing."

"If you can decipher that then you should be a spy! Forget the art! You could be a code decipherer and make a fortune off deciphering  for mom's with toddlers!"

He laughed. Oh, how I love his laugh!

We finished shopping, got in the car, sung all the way back, unloaded groceries, and laid down on the couch.

Luc sighed, "On the bright side! School starts in a week so we won't have to do this!"

That's right... school starts in a week... then I'll be alone with other girls my age. Lucien and the others will be in different classes than me. I'll be alone.
