Chapter 24

Fuegoleon ran towards the building and he felt an extremely powerful dark magic wrapping around the establishment but still he proceeded inside.

He went underground and was surprised to see someone there, another spatial mage who continues opening a portal and some evil mages coming out from it, before he could react some covered his mouth, swiftly turn around only to see Noelle and Asta "We followed you Captain" Asta said with his usual tone before looking over to the mage who seems unbothered suddenly, an idea snapped at Fuegoleon's head "Asta, as you can see these mages are being controlled by an invisible thread from their back" Noelle gasped but seems like got his idea "And you want Asta to try to deactivate that spell using his anti-magic sword?" Noelle asked, Fuegoleon nodded "That is correct! But it's too risky, once the thread was cut it's also the end of their life like what happened with the other person I fought with earlier" Asta picked up his sword "But there's nothing wrong but to try" Fuegoleon held his shoulder "You have my trust" Asta nodded and with that he immediately charge towards the mage who got surprised.

He swiftly cut the threads while Noelle stopped the other mage from getting close to him, Fuegoleon helped them.

On the other hand, Yuma held his katana tightly and he could still feel Kakarauri's mana "Rosean!" She looked over to him "What?" she asked, Yuma shook his head "Nothing it's just that the silence was too intimidating" she gave him a bored look, Yami slapped his back "You giving us a heart attack do you know that birdie!?" he said, Yuma groan and glared at him, Nozel just took a deep breath.

A few seconds later, they all got surprised when an explosion happened "AHHHHHHH" Kakauri screamed, they saw him bleeding and there were cut strings from his back "How!? how did they..." he fell to the floor, Rosean frowned and ready herself to fight and after a while all the strings suddenly moved like tentacles the first one who got hit was Yami "No! Sukehiro!" he got a huge wound from his chest to his stomach, they saw how Kakarauri turned big and had a lot of horns "Ah finally!" he said and laughed, Yami was still able to get up "What do you think of me huh?" He said, Rosean got worried and was about to run towards him but then, Kakarauri moved so fast while his tentacles were moving as well "Not so fast Lady!" he was able to slash her with his tentacles, Nozel used his magic to shower Kakarauri with silver bullets and as well as Charlotte who also worried about Yami, Rosean used her magic to create a barrier for them even though she herself is bleeding.

The fight continued, the magic knights almost exhausted their magic but Rosean uses her magic to give them more which surprised them "Rosean please you can't do that! you know the consequences of it!" Yuma shouted and slashed the tentacles that were in front of him "But I can't just let you all die!" Rosean shouted back.

Gauche got up "For Marie I will live!" he pulled up the hairs that were covering his eyes "Rosean you got me" Rosean nodded and smiled but before they even continued with their plans Kakarauri held up his rod "Not so fast lady! If I can't finish you then I'll finish who's important with you!" he pointed the rod to Nozel but Rosean immediately made a barrier unfortunately, he tricked her and threw an attack on Yami who's currently kneeling due to his injury....

"YAMI!" Charlotte and Rosean shouted in chorus "Captain!" Gauche and Finral shouted as they saw the giant ball of darkness hit him...

FLASHBACK

"Sukehiro! that's unfair you're always cheating!" Rosean slapped him at the shoulder, they were sitting at the field full of flowers "Haha what? I did not! okay let's try another one!" he picked up another flower "Alright let's see, it should end up as Yes, right?" Rosean nodded and chuckled "Alright! Yes!" she was surprised when he crashed the whole flower and showered her with the petals of it "Eh? what's with that?" she pouted her lips "I Don't want to waste my time picking the petals one by one! well, I will marry you anyway!" he hugged her and she chuckled.

FLASHBACK ENDS

They were just kids during that time, Rosean's tears fell from her eyes as the cave starting to fall she saw that Yami fell to the ground too "Yami!" she shouted as she ran towards him, Yuma was a bit far from her.

Kakarauri stared at her, she reached Sukehiro and held him to her lap "Hey! hey! wake up!" she patted his cheek gently and he opened his eyes "Rosean..." his voice is low as he looking at her, he smiled a little and reached for her cheek "Why crying? Don't cry for me" she shook her head and held his hand and put it on her cheek "Shut up" she looked around and saw Charlotte, she's also crying and by that time Rosean realized something so she looked down to Yami "You can't die here Sukehiro...you can't leave this world behind" he frowned, she slowly leaned over to him.

Charlotte gasped a little, she saw how Rosean slowly pressed her lips to Yami.

Yuma shook his head "No! Rosean you can't do that! No!" Rosean uses her magic, Yami felt it and opened his eyes slightly "Rosean!" Yuma was running to stop her as everyone saw they are glowing "No please stop!" Yuma shouted, Kakarauri got confused too but he took the opportunity to attack them but Nozel fought him "Don't try to be sneaky" Nozel let out a silver spear and Gauche doubled its number, it struck Kakarauri on the chest.

They were all surprised when Yami and Rosean switched places, she's now the one who's injured, Yuma stopped running and stared at her "Why did you do that Rosean!? why!?" Yami asked as he held her tightly "Because you have to live for the sake of your squad" she excused but deep inside she wants Charlotte to confess her feelings to Yami, he carried her "I'll finish that devil for you" he laid her down, she smiled weakly at him "I know you will" before she closed her eyes they saw her grimoire vanishing but it stopped, Nozel was shocked "What happened? how's that even possible!?" he asked, Yuma looked down "It's her ability as a special mage. Her mom did it before that's why she grew up with her stepmom" Nozel was surprised, Yami approached Yuma and patted his shoulder "Yuma let's go and finish that devil" Yuma looked at him and nodded.

He walked towards Rosean "All this time, all I did is to protect you but why? why do you have to sacrifice yourself for him?huh Rosean!?" his tears began to fall from his eyes then he grabbed his hair and in one swiftly move he cut it with his katana, his hair was now shoulder length and his white armor turns black, he knelt down "Wake up Rosean, stop playing dead" they gasped feeling his mana gets darker and Stronger that even Kakarauri shaken "What?" Yami smirks "That's right Yuma shows them the real magic of a guardian" he said, Yuma's eyes turned red, they gasped seeing Rosean raised and her eyes turned red, her armor became black.

She stretched her arms and smiled, Yuma smiled back at her then he helped her to got up "I know you would saved me" she reached for her katana and swiftly cut her hair "Fair enough" Yuma hugged her.

She gently pushed him away, then she held her katana and her grimoire opened, she walked towards Yami "Yami Sukehiro" he stared at her and smiled "Crazy" She chuckled and held his chest "I'm serious when I promise that I will protect you" she turned around "Yuma are you ready?" she smiled devilishly while looking at Kakarauri "As always, Lady Rosean"  he stood beside her.

Yami ready himself to help them but then he gasped when all of sudden, Yuma and Rosean jumps towards Kakarauri, they can't even see what's happening but Kakarauri screamed in agony as his tentacles are being cut into pieces, Rosean uses her magic of illusion and Yuma used his traps "Yami! your chance!" Yami tighten his grip to his katana and his mana increases as he let out a powerful dimension slash it Kakarauri at the same time Rosean let out a eye blinding light slash.

Everything became smoky and the cave started to collapse, Gauche helped Rosean by using his mirrors to reflect her attacks and it doubled it.

Finral created spatial portal close to Kakarauri and Nozel used it for his attack, Charlotte uses her magic too.
