"Are you ready?" Mark spoke excitedly as we passed the Ohio welcome sign. I nodded as my stomach churned. Words could not describe this feeling of nervousness I had. I nodded slowly, just looking out this window. I've only been away from Massachusetts one time when I moved to LA. States all have sort of a different look, and I was mesmerized, just observing this. It wasn't a huge difference of course, but I loved adventuring. And, all my life I never really got to do that. My parents never did the family vacations, and it was just great to get away from the same old things you were used to.

We pulled up to a gas station, "I'll be right back Mark, I'm getting some stuff. And asking for a plastic bag to clean your car out because holy hell." I chuckled exiting the car, I looked back before finally making my way toward the store. He looked at me with daggers, and I still laughed as I entered. I grabbed chocolate covered pretzels and went to the counter. "Hey, is this all for you today?" A short old woman asked. "No, actually my friend wants 20 on pump 4. And, can I have a plastic bag?" She nodded handing me one and punching things into the register and I gave her the money. I turned on my heel to walk out the door but she stopped me, "are you with Mark Fischbach?" She asked squinting as she observed him pumping gas and making awkward faces. I nodded and added that he was helping me out with some things in Massachusetts.

"Well, I haven't seen him with a girl in a very long time. I hope everything goes well with you two, by the way, I know him quite well." She smirked looking over at me. I looked at her with a furrowed brow, "really?" I asked, honestly curious. "Mhm, him and my nephew you are very great friends." She finally said with a small chuckle as she begin filling the stock of cigarettes behind the counter. "Nephew?" I asked, wondering who she was talking about. "Oh, Wade." She said, realizing I wouldn't have known his identity otherwise. "Ohhh, I met Wade at the convention. He's super nice." I smiled rather big. "That's great to hear Hun, I hope you and Mark have a great night. He seems to be getting impatient." She said pointing toward him tapping his fingers on the steering wheel and flipping through radio stations. I nodded and said goodbye finally as I walked out the door.

"Eeeeeeeeemmmmm?" Mark said as I hopped into the car. "Whaaaaaaat?" I mimicked his actions. "WHaT TOOK YOU SO LONG?" He said in a fake irritated voice followed by a tiny chuckle. "Oh, you didn't tell me Wade's Aunt worked in there." I said with a small smile. "Was she taking you for like interrogation or something you were in there forever." He giggled as he pulled onto the road. "Yeah, kind of." I let out a deep breath. "What's wrong?" He looked over at me, his eyes filled with sincerity. I swallowed hard, "just nervous." I said with a tight throat. "She'll love you, because I do." He said driving. He then interrupted as I opened my mouth. "Uh, because I do, like you." He said nervously. I looked toward my window, he indirectly said the L word.

The whole drive was silent after this. We pulled up to this beautiful house. It wasn't gigantic, but it had a cozy feel just looking at it. I took a deep breath as I opened my door. Mark followed close behind in the same actions, apart from the deep breath. He met me over on the passenger side of his car. He pulled me into a tight hug, whispering in my ear. "It'll all be perfectly fine, just be yourself, yourself is great." I buried my head into his chest one last time before he released me and I cleared my mind only focusing on the task at hand and the words Mark had just whispered in my ear. I couldn't help but still be tense. This was his mom and I really wanted to make a great first impression.

My heart pounded as Mark opened the door as we entered. I was greeted by two dogs running straight in our direction, tails wagging everywhere. A smile broke out on my face as I looked at the fluffy white one, and the small wiener dog. Mark looked down at me as I got down to their level, he smiled and giggled as I talked in a weird voice as I petted and loved them up. "Hey! You're home!" I heard a woman's voice that sounded so quiet and fragile. It had to be his mother, I took one last deep breath before looking up. "Oh, hi." She was taken back a bit. She seemed so shy. I finally stood up from the dogs and made my way over with Mark further into the house, his mom followed us.
