*About a week later

After a few days of rest you were finally feeling up to walking around the ministry. Since Copia was running around you were in the company of a rotation of ghouls, today being joined by Mountain. You remembered Copia saying there weren't supposed to be any meetings today so you thought it would be a good idea to take the twins on a tour to meet the clergy members. Mountain, holding Dante, followed.

"So, where to first?"

"I figure we start with the Papas and then figure it out from there. Should we start with Terzo?"

"I suppose? Any particular reason?"

"I think he'd throw a fit if we didn't."

You both laugh, stopping for a second when a few of the sisters saw you in the hall and quickly said hi. You both finally made it to the hall of offices and to Terzo's door, knocking to enter. A seemingly frustrated Terzo calls you in, upon entering his scowl quickly melted into a smile.

"Quelli sono i miei nipote e nipote?"

You smile and nod, handing the child in your arms to him.

"This is little Maria."

She wiggled a little in his arms but eventually settled, you were pretty sure Terzo's paint would crack from how big he was smiling.

"Bellissima, proprio come sua madre."

You laugh, taking her back so he could hold your son.

"Dante."

Dante looked up at him, looking back at you in what you swore was confusion. Terzo couldn't help chuckling.

"What's wrong little one?"

"I think he's confused... maybe its the paints, its similar to Copia but its not the same."

"Oh, I'm sorry little one."

After a bit you left, glad to have made Terzo's day a little better. Secondo and Primo were easy since they were already together in Primo's office, confused until they saw the bundles in yours and Mountain's arms.

"On a bit of a field trip are we?"

"Yes, unless you're too busy."

"Not at all sorella, just a bit of brotherly gossiping."

You hand Maria to Primo, leaving Dante to Secondo. While you'd seen it before it always intrigued you when the oldest Emeritus brothers turned soft around children. Primo looked at Maria for a second and chuckled, holding her up so Secondo could see her face.

"Fratello."

Secondo looked up, suddenly realizing he was referring to her green eye. He jokingly glared at him with his similar green eye. Eventually, they had actual work to return to so you set off again with Mountain. Sultarian was out today so that only left Sister Imparator. You were a little surprised to catch her in the hall,a small smile appearing when she saw you.

"Hello sister Y/n, its good to see you up and about."

"Hello Sister Imparator, I thought it would be a good idea to bring the twins to meet some of the clergy. I've already seen all the Papas so if you're not too busy?"

"You've happened to catch me at the right time, come in."

You follow her into her office, her setting a stack of papers on the desk. She looks at the twins for a moment, you couldn't read the emotion on her face. She focuses on Maria, chuckling a bit.

"You know, they look a lot like Copia when he was small."

You hand Maria to her.

"You've known Copia that long? I mean, I know he grew up in the ministry but I wasn't sure how much of that time you knew him."

"Oh, I've known him since he was born. Such a sweet child."

"I know this may be random, but do you or did you know his mother?"

She nods, possibly thinking on how to answer with words.

"She was someone who made what many would call a poor decision... she'd be proud of him."

Dante suddenly started to whine and squirm in Mountain's arms, Imparator chuckles and places Maria back in your arms.

"I think they're tired for today, you should let them rest. I wouldn't mind seeing them again though when I have time."

You nod and take your leave with Mountain, just before exiting you pause.

"Even if my theory is wrong, you raised Copia and that makes you their grandmother."

Imparator stayed silent but nods, smiling as you leave. You make it back to your room, Mountain helping you settle the twins down for a nap. You thank him as he leaves, leaving you to flop down on the bed. You didn't lay there long before you heard the door open, quiet footsteps making their way over to you.

"Busy day cara?"

"We went on a little field trip today."

"Oh, all three of you?"

"And Mountain. We visited the other Papas and even Imparator."

"Oh... how'd that go?"

He seemed nervous.

"Well, the Papas reacted pretty much how you'd expect. I was a little surprised by Imparator, it wasn't bad but she seemed a little sad..."

Copia nods but his brow is slightly furrowed, you sit up and take his hand in yours.

"I also said she was basically their grandmother since she raised you."

He chuckles, brow still furrowed. You pull him towards you, you flopping back down as he flops down beside you.

"Is Imparator...?"

"I don't know for sure, cara. The only thing confirmed, sadly, is that I'm one of Nihil's."

You nod, placing a kiss on his brow.

"Then lets rest while they do."

Finally, Copia's brow unfurrows and he smiles, placing a kiss on the tip of your nose. You ended up napping there together until you heard whines coming from the crib. You go to check but Copia holds you down.

"Let me, I haven't seen them all day."

You smile, watching him peer inside the crib. You held in a laugh seeing his goofy smile and disheveled face paint, but you wouldn't have it any other way.
