Macie's pov:
I wake up in the morning to find it's still raining, though not as heavily as yesterday. I rise from bed quietly, careful not to disturb anyone. As I make my bed, I contemplate how to express my gratitude to Oliver and Carson for their kindness.
Once my bed is made, I realize I'm wearing Oliver's clothes and don't have any of my own. Memories flood my mind, making me blush at the thought of wearing Oliver's clothes in the morning. However, I don't want to wear yesterday's clothes and, truth be told, I quite like his. Blushing, I slowly descend the stairs, hoping no one will notice my reddened face and ask questions.
In the kitchen, I decide to prepare breakfast for everyone as a token of appreciation for Carson and Oliver. After all, they've done so much for me and I'm a good cook. I gather everything I need to make waffles, pancakes, French toast, bacon, sausage, and hash browns. Unable to decide between waffles and pancakes, I opt to make both.
I turn on the nearby radio - which I assume is Oliver's - and hope he doesn't mind. As the music plays softly in the background, I start cooking what I hope will be the best meal ever. My aim is to surprise everyone when they wake up.
As the food nears completion, I begin setting the table. Suddenly, I hear a voice in the hallway - frustrated and perhaps tired. It's hard not to eavesdrop when Carson is slightly raising his voice at someone on the phone.
As I lay everything out on the table, Carson's footsteps grow louder until he interrupts himself with a quick "Alright, I'll see what I can do but he's going to be furious and might not have any ideas." Before he can say anything else, he walks into the kitchen with a cup of coffee in one hand and his phone in the other. When his eyes meet mine, he quickly says goodbye and hangs up.
"Hey Macie," Carson greets me with widened eyes at the sight of the food on the table. "Good morning! Did you sleep well on the couch? Or did Oliver show you where the spare room is? And why does it smell so good in here?"
I smile nervously before responding. "I made breakfast as a thank you to you and Oliver for everything. I hope you don't mind. As for Oliver showing me the room - no, I woke up there. Not sure how I got there but yeah, I slept well thanks. Hopefully you did too. Also, breakfast is ready so please dig in."
Carson smirks before replying "Huh! He must have carried you upstairs then! And thank you Macie - you really didn't have to make breakfast, but we appreciate it." He then starts eating before exclaiming "Oh my gosh! This is so good! You're a wonderful cook Macie! Maybe we should hire you to make our meals!"
I smile in return before digging into my own meal. After a few minutes Carson's phone goes off again and he sighs while mumbling something about someone needing a vacation.
I didn't say a word because it wasn't my place, and I'm sure he didn't want me to overhear. He goes on to respond, "Sorry, it's just the company. They can't seem to do things on their own these days," before returning to his meal. I nod my head, finding it suspicious. Doesn't Oliver own the company? Why do they have to bother him? Doesn't he have someone to handle that? I ponder these thoughts as Carson and I engage in small talk, waiting for Oliver to join us.
Carson's pov:
i wake up to the sound of my phone I sigh as i pick up the phone seeing that its management for Oliver. " hello? I say sleepily into the phone " oh you are awake i was trying to call you for awhile we need to get Oliver to record some songs while he is on vacation so that we have something before he goes on tour you think Oliver can?" my boss says I sigh before getting out of bed and responding as I make way to the kitchen for some coffee cause I'm gonna need it since these people cant seem to understand things. " look I don't know cause he's been on a writers block you know? and that's why he is away to get inspired to write some songs so I don't know if" before I could continue he interrupts " yeah we all know that but he's been relaxing for what 24 hours? I'm sure he can manage something for the fans to have until his tour I'm sure" he says not really caring I then go off as I drink my coffee yelling at him saying he's on vacation before I then hang up despite my boss protests which he will have to deal with and its not like he can fire me I thought to myself Oliver wouldn't allow it.
