chapter 20. will you go out with me?

Olivers Pov:

As the lightning struck, I saw Macie jump a little, causing her to trip and land in my arms. The power goes out, but I didn't mind at all. Holding her felt right, like this was where she belonged.
But as quickly as the thunder came, she realized our position and stepped out of my arms, her face turning red. "Sorry about that. Also, great, the power's out. Looks like we're stuck here until it comes back on," Macie said, sitting on the couch. I followed her lead and replied, "Hey, it was alright. I didn't mind. And yeah, I guess we're stuck since I can't take the elevator or get to my room. So, I hope you don't mind me staying until it comes back on," I said. She shook her head, a bright smile on her face- a smile that I adored. Then again, everything she did was adorable.
"You can stay here as long as needed. I'm just wondering why Addie and Trevor aren't showing up. I know they said Carson needed them, but for what? We're on break for the next few weeks, right?" Macie asked, crossing her legs and bringing them towards her. Just as I was about to reply, my phone buzzed. It was a message from Trevor, and I was confused. Maybe they didn't need to meet Carson after all.
The message read:
"Good luck, Oliver. You two better be together by the end of the night. Yes, this was all planned. Don't be mad at us, because you both really like each other. No matter how hard you try to hide it, it's not fooling anyone else. Don't tell Macie; she'll get Addie back, and then Addie will attack me. But I wish you luck. I know you can do it."

my mouth drops at the sight of the message I can't believe they would do this to me and Macie. i don't even know if she likes me that way even though they think so doesn't mean she does... guess we will be finding out tonight because as much as I am very nervous, I'm going to have to ask her out because i really do want to be with her. I just hope that I don't mess this up and she ends up leaving because she doesn't want to be around me since it will be awkward etc.

before Macie could look at the fact that I am shocked I made sure she wasn't looking my way when I read the message. I then started to type back to Trevor before I made any moves tonight because this will be a long night and I just hope they are right and that she likes me.

the message to Trevor read:

I really hope you and Addie are right because if you guys end up being wrong then I want to say I told you. so, wish me luck in this because I'm going to need all the luck you can give.

I then hit sent before Macie could notice and I sighed cause tis will be a long night I can just feel it since I have to figure out a way to ask her out.

what feels like hours later we get started playing a game of truth or dare which is going alright but I need to switch this game up so I can finally ask her out.

" Truth or dare?" Macie asks with a smile, and I think for a moment before I say " dare I am not scared of you" I say confidently which makes her smirk and laugh a little she's got something planned and I'm not sure if I will like it.

" I dare you to text Carson saying you just had a one-night stand with a fan, and you don't know what to do since she is in your room right now trying to stay with you since the power is out" Macie says with an evil smirk and I do so because I know he's going to blow up my phone. as I write out the message, I start to get an idea of what I'm going to make her do if she chooses either dare or truth. once I was done, I hit sent after showing her the message which caused her to laugh super hard.

" he's going to be so pissed at me you better be ready missy" I say playfully at Macie then my phone proceeds to blow up with his messages and he then tries to call me, but I just send a message saying it was all a joke and he writes back saying it better be.

I then look over at Macie and she is just laughing on the floor at the whole situation, and I just smile knowing I'm going to get her back and hopefully this ends well.

"Hey there, it's my turn now. Truth or dare? Or are you too chicken to pick dare?" I tease with a grin, masking my nerves. She ponders for what seems like an eternity before finally making her choice. "Dare it is. I'm not afraid of your challenges," she declares, and I feel a rush of excitement that she's up for it, curious to see if she feels the same way about me.
"Alright, since you're not backing down, I dare you to say yes to whatever I ask," I challenge, noticing a mix of confusion and nerves flicker across her face. She hesitantly nods and adds, "I'll go along with it, but please, nothing too crazy." I reassure her with a nod, planning just one task, if she's game.

After playfully mulling over my next move, relishing in the anticipation building within her, I finally cut to the chase and ask without further ado.

"I dare you to say yes to this question: Will you go on a date with me, maybe even tonight? Why wait, right?" I say, and as soon as my words are said, her eyes grow wide in shock, and she covers her mouth in surprise. I wait anxiously for her answer, feeling the nerves creeping in.

macies Pov:

"I dare you to say yes to this question: Will you go on a date with me, maybe even tonight? Why wait, right?" Oliver's words hang in the air, causing my mouth to drop and my eyes to widen in disbelief. Did he just ask me out? Does he have feelings for me? The shock nearly leaves me speechless, but I gather myself to respond, wanting to reassure him and ease his nerves.

"Yes, I'll go out with you, Oliver. And not just because of the dare, but because I genuinely want to. Hopefully, that's what you meant too," I say nervously, hoping to convey my feelings honestly.His eyes light up as he rushes over to me, embracing me tightly and spinning me around in sheer joy at my response. "Oh my gosh, you said yes! And I absolutely meant it, not as a dare. I've been wanting to ask you out for a while, but I never knew you felt the same way," he says, gazing deeply into my eyes, his sincerity shining through.

then it finally happened we got lost in each other's eyes not daring to say a word letting our eyes do the talking and well it led to him finally kissing me. I felt sparks as his lips finally touched mine after waiting what felt like forever it was well worth the wait.
