Macie's Pov:

weeks later....

As I was sleeping, my phone alarm startled me awake. I groggily reached for it, realizing it was my second alarm indicating that I had less than ten minutes to get ready. I had missed my first alarm. Panic set in as I scrambled out of bed and grabbed my suitcase, which I had thankfully packed ahead of time.

I quickly hopped into the shower, then proceeded to straighten my hair and tie it into a high ponytail. I dressed in a navy plaid mini skirt, a white ombre grey off-the-shoulder flowy crop top, and a black hoodie with designs. After ensuring I had everything, I left my hotel room and headed downstairs, hoping to grab a coffee and something to eat before my car arrived to take my uncle and me to the airport.

Upon reaching the breakfast area, I saw my uncle already there, reading his newspaper and sipping his coffee. "Hey, Mace. About time you got up. I almost thought I needed to wake you up before it was too late," he said, smiling.

"Yeah, I slept through my first alarm. Thankfully, I had a backup plan and set a second alarm. When is the car coming to pick us up for the airport?" I asked as I made my coffee in a to-go cup, grabbed a muffin, and some snacks for later. I then joined my uncle at the table.

He checked his phone for the time and said, "Well, we've got about five minutes before the car gets here. Shall we head out? It might be a little cold, but it'll be alright once we get to the airport and our destination." I nodded, finishing up my food and refreshing my coffee. It was still four in the morning, and I was going to need the caffeine.

I couldn't believe it was happening. The tour was already here. As we waited for the car in the chilly, dark morning, a light rain began to fall. As soon as the car arrived, we loaded our suitcases into the back and climbed in. My uncle told the driver our destination, and we were off, the car's heater combating the morning chill.

Looking out the window, I was amazed at how quickly everything was happening. I was genuinely excited about the prospect of traveling to many places around the world on our tour bus.

Olivers Pov:

I was sleeping peacefully when a loud bang from downstairs jolted me awake. I groggily put on my shirt, as I was only wearing pajama bottoms, and made my way downstairs. I called out that I was coming, hoping the knocking would cease as I turned on the lights for the downstairs and porch.

As I opened the door, I began to speak but was cut off as I registered who was at the door. "What do you -" Before I could finish, Carson barged into the house in a panic, grabbing me before he started to speak.

"Oliver, we are running late. We need to be at the airport very quickly. The car will be here soon. We were supposed to leave five minutes ago. Go get ready," he shouted. My eyes widened in surprise, and I sprinted upstairs to get dressed.

"My suitcase is right next to the door. I'll be out really fast," I called out as I dashed up the stairs. I quickly put on shorts and a shirt, anticipating the warm weather. I sighed in relief, grateful that I had showered the night before. I put on my shoes and ran downstairs with the items I had forgotten to pack, making it in record time.

As soon as I reached the last step, Carson looked up from his phone and smirked at me. I was confused and checked myself, wondering if I had done something wrong or put on clothes that weren't clean. Seeing nothing amiss, I asked, "What? Is there something wrong? Do I have something in my hair?"

He shook his head before replying, "No, you don't have something in your hair. I promise. It's just that I got you up right on time by tricking you up. Heck, I'm surprised I could do that. I thought maybe you figured it out." He continued to smirk as he watched my jaw drop in shock.
