As they got to the restaurant Reese slowed to a stop, carefully parking the car. She exits, opening Delia's door and holding out a hand to her helping her out. Delia holds her dress as she takes Reese's hand so that she doesn't trip. The brunette reaches into the backseat, grabbing a little box and putting it in her suit pocket.
She closes the door and leads them both inside and to the host stand. "I have a reservation under Michaels" Reese says and the hostess smiles and nods while grabbing menus. Delia bites her lip as she slowly reaches for Reese's hand. Reese feels the slight motion and looks at Delia and quickly down to their hands.
Delia blushes and pulls away but before she can Reese softly but firmly grabs it and intertwines their fingers. Delia smiles softly and looks towards the floor trying to hide her blush. The hostess leads them to a table on the patio and tells them their server will be there shortly. They both nod and say thank you, glancing at each other before turning their attention to the menu.
As they decide their drinks, the waitress comes over and smiles asking what they want. Her eyes wander on Delia a little too long for Reese's liking but she tries to keep her cool. "I'll have sweet tea" Cordelia said, "I'll make sure it's just as sweet as you" the waitress commented.
Reese prided herself on her ability to remain composed in situations. However, this time did not feel like that, all she felt was rage. But for the sake of Cordelia, she kept her shit together. "I'll have Gin, neat" Reese uttered causing the woman to finally acknowledge her. "Could I suggest a different drink? That might be a bit strong" she said, heavily condescending.
"Perhaps you could just give me what I asked for" Reese said sarcastically with a cynical smile. The waitress rolled her eyes only furthering Reese's anger. Inside she was boiling but outside she looked fine. Except for the fact that Cordelia could read her like a book and knew she was fuming.
"It's ok... maybe she's having a rough night" Delia said trying to be understanding. "Yeah, you're probably right" Reese says wanting to believe her. "So... Reese Michaels?" Cordelia asked, referring to the name on the reservation. "Alicia Michaels, Reese Weathers" Reese corrects her letting her know she used the alias.
"Hmmm. Why do you need an alias? Are you a criminal or something?" Cordelia asked jokingly, "or something" Reese answers vaguely. "You're quite mysterious, you know that? I feel like I know nothing about you" Delia says. "Well isn't that what a date is for?" Reese asks cheekily as the waitress places their drinks on the table.
"Have you decided on what to eat?" she asks politely as she looks at Delia, in return, Delia looks at Reese. "Lasagna, please" Reese answers and the waitress turns to her with a look of disgust. "And for you?" she asks scribbling down Reese's order and turning to Cordelia once again. "The same" Delia answers, "I could recommend something much better" the waitress says.
Delia looks to Reese, wanting this to be over. "She'll just have the same, if that's alright with you" Reese interjects passive aggressively. The waitress rolls her eyes once again and walks off. That was the last straw for Reese and she can't just overlook it. "One second, witchy" Reese says and Cordelia nods just praying she doesn't flip out.
Reese searches for a minute until she finds the waitress at another table. She waits patiently, not being rude enough to disturb innocent people. She catches the waitress as she's walking back to the kitchen. "Excuse me" Reese says politely grabbing the waitress's attention. "Oh it's you, what do you want?" she asks sassily, Reese pulls her by her collar, not enough to hurt her, but enough to get her point across.
"Listen, I don't know what kind of people you're used to dealing with. But you do not want to fuck with me... got it?" Reese asks rhetorically, her eyes changing to red voluntarily. The waitress's eyes widen in fear while being forced to stare into blood red orbs. She nods frantically just wanting to be let go. Reese sets her down gently and smooths out the wrinkles on her shirt.
"I hope we can get along..." she says sickly sweet and the waitress just gulps and nods. "Perfect. I better not keep my girlfriend waiting any longer" Reese casually says. She slowly struts back to the table happily, at least she didn't rage out. She sits back down at the table in front of Cordelia who raises her eyebrows. "What?" Reese asks calmly as she swirls her drink around before taking a sip. "What happened?" the blonde asks, leaning forward a bit to stress her concern.
"Nothing. I just talked to her and we came to an understanding" Reese says innocently. Cordelia squints her eyes at the brunette not believing a word she says. "Will she come back?" Cordelia asks nervously and Reese senses what she means by that. "I didn't kill her if that's what you mean. Just had a chat she'll still serve us" Reese answers.
Cordelia visibly relaxes, "you really thought I'd kill her" Reese states surprised. "Well no but- it's just the way you looked at her..." Delia states. "Harley I would kill for you... but not because someone looked at you" Reese says seriously. Delia smiles softly at the little nickname and takes a sip of her drink.
Their food comes shortly and they dig in, having light conversation in between bites. Once they're done, they decide on getting a small desert and sharing it. While they wait for the waitress to come back, Reese remembers her other gift. She pulls the box out her suit pocket and hands it over to Cordelia.
"I almost forgot again. I got you this" Reese says and Cordelia looks at the box confused momentarily. "You got me something else? Now I feel bad for not getting you anything" she says setting the box down gently. "You didn't have to, I just wanted to get you something. The only thing I want in return is for you to open it" Reese says softly.
Delia hesitantly opens it to reveal the little golden necklace inside. "Oh my gosh, it's beautiful... you didn't have to" she says looking up with tears in her eyes. "You're too pretty to cry" Reese says getting out her chair to crouch and wipe her tears. The people surrounding them stop talking and look towards them.
Delia blushes as she looks at Reese and she begins to feel the stares. It takes her seconds to realize her position and why they are looking. "False alarm, not yet" she says and the crowd goes wild with laughter. They all turn back to their conversations and food as Reese turns back to Delia. "Hold up your hair" she says simply and the blonde obliges.
Reese delicately clasped the chain around Delia's smooth neck. Delia feels her breath on the nape of her neck causing goosebumps to rise. This does not go unnoticed by the brunette who chuckles to herself before sitting back down.
