"Okay, I'm going for the last star now. Just relax."
"Oh. Okay..." I whined as I clenched my fist hard. It felt like someone was poking you with a pin really fast and was dragging it through your skin.
I had it on the back of my right shoulder which there was some pain but it didn't feel at all like I was being cut. Terrence told me that I had a great idea for choosing the back of my shoulder since it wasn't too bad. The pain was just surprisingly tolerable.
The three small stars were done and I had to endure more the small pain until the last big one. It wasn't bad at all but the shading was worse than the outline because it involved going over areas which were already cut and possibly bleeding.
It took two and a half hours to finish the four stars. I got worked up over the pain and I found that after it was done, it wasn't nearly as bad as I expected.
"It looks great on you." He admired as he wiped his sweat on his forehead.
"Oh. Thanks." I said shyly.
"You did a great job on enduring the pain."
"Yeah. It wasn't as painful as what I expected." I said as I tried wearing the other strap of my black tank top over my new tattooed shoulder. I was groaning in pain when the cloth touched the area.
"Oops stop. Don't do that. You don't want to ruin your first tattoo." Terrence stopped me as soon as he saw me.
"Am I going home looking like this?" I asked disappointingly, leaving the strap fall down. " Oh gosh.." I gasped when the tattooed area started to itch.
"Yes.. Bare with that.. That's the worst part of getting a tattoo." Terrence smirked.
I quickly stood up and walked towards a mirror infront of me as I tried to have a look on the back of my shoulder.
"Oh my gosh! Is this how it really looks like?" I almost screamed when I saw my shoulder. It looked like sunburn!
"Yes.. And it's natural for your skin to react like that. It'll get back to normal after three days."
"Oh. You promise?" I pouted.
"I promise." He nodded, raising his right hand as he smirked, trying to hide his amusement.
"Oh." I said as I slowly grabbed my jacket on the chair.
"So? What do you think about your tattoo?" Terrence suddenly asked and he was sitting on a chair across mine.
"Hmm.. It's great. I mean,... I love it.. It's worth the pain, I guess." I smiled as I shrugged.
"Oh. That's great to hear."
"Yuh.. Thank you."
"It's not a problem." He smiled as he folded his arms over his chest and leaning his back on the chair.
"But, I was just wondering why there were no other customers? I mean, what time do your clients usually come? Or your other co-artists?" I asked suddenly an out of the blue question.
Shit! It wasn't an insult.
I was just staring at him, waiting for his answer. But for few seconds, he was just grinning at me as if he was forming some words on his mind.
"I--.. I wasn't insulting you or whatever. I was just wondering." I shrugged. I said it when I started to get nervous. Maybe he didn't like what I just asked or the tone of my voice?
Gosh! Please speak!
"Hmm.. the shop's new, finished a month ago. And you're asking me about clients?" He smirked.
