I was sitting across Travis as Macy was sitting beside him. We were in a fancy restaurant after they decided to take lunch before we go to the venue.
Macy dragged me to join them. I couldn't refuse since there was no other way to say no. She was very talkative but friendly.
Atleast she talks with sense.
I kept on glancing at both of them, a little jealous maybe? Because they looked good together. They seemed happy for each other. I caught Travis holding her hand as she was talking nonstop to him, while waiting for our food to come. His eyes sparkled as she talks. He seemed very inlove with her.
I felt like a thirdwheel.
But then suddenly, I remembered Josh.
Did he ever look at me the way Travis looks at Macy?
A sudden pang of jealousy filled my heart. The thought weakened my soul.
Travis had introduced Macy to me when we were on our way to the restaurant. I've just learned that Macy's three years older than us. She's a fourth year Biology student and will soon graduate this summer. She had joined the seminar for the past three years so she was going to be our guide. I was surprised because she didn't look like her age.
I didn't notice that I was just staring on my glass until Macy interrupted my reverie. "Shiloh?"
"Uh yes?" My voice was a little too high. Then, I cleared my throat.
"Hmm.. Have you been here already? I mean, like a vacation?" Macy asked with her twinkling eyes.
I gulped at my seat. "This is my first time here."
"Oh really?" She looked surprised.
"Yes, that's why she had to come with us." Travis interrupted as they both met each other's eyes.
Oh. It sounded like I really don't have any choice.
"Oh." Macy squinted her nose in a cute way which makes Travis giggle at her side.
Geez.
After ten minutes, the waitress had placed our orders on the table, making me sit up straight to my seat. I felt like I haven't eaten a week or so. My tummy was growling and I was afraid the food on my plate wasn't enough.
As I munched every last bit of my food, I can't help but glanced at the couple across me.
They were so sweet the bees might stung them. This wasn't what I was expecting-- trailing behind this couple looking like a dog. If only I could turn back the time when I just didn't accept Macy's offer to come with them or just avoided Travis on the plane. This wouldn't have happened.
"Hey, are you alright?" Travis asked, snapping out my reverie.
"Ugh.. Yeah.." I answered weakly.
"You seemed tired, Shiloh." Macy sounded concern. "Hmm, we better go now. I'll take you both to the camp and after that I will help you find a place to stay." She smiled meekly.
Macy said we could take a cab instead of a train which would take us half an hour to get there.
I was seated on the passenger seat while the two of them were on the back. They were talking nonstop and I didn't know what they're talking about but I just noticed that it was Macy who did all the talking.
The woman can be an anchor.
"So, after we could register, we'll help Shiloh find a hotel?" Travis announced and my ears suddenly widened after hearing my name.
