(Jirou's POV)
I would usually go to the ocean to help get inspiration for music. When I would go, it seemed like the ocean was singing peaceful lyrics of its own song. One that I loved so much. When the ocean was quiet and seemed a bit sad, I sang it some of my own songs. I would always bring my guitar, pen, and paper just in case if inspiration hit me.
One night, I couldn't sleep very well. I decided I would head down to the one thing I knew would comfort me. The ocean.
When I reached the shores, I saw someone sitting in the said and their back was facing me. Their h/c hair glistened in the moonlight, and I could hear very faint singing.
I decided to walk closer out of curiosity; but I also knew to be cautious.
Closer I walked, until I found out that the song they were singing was one of mine!
"Excuse me?" I soon was right behind the person and they stopped singing at the sound of my voice. They turned around and I was met with a beautiful pair of e/c eyes that almost seemed to be glowing. And although I hadn't seen it at first, I definitely noticed it now.
This person had a tail!
"What... what are you?" I asked, taking a small step back.
"..." The person looked back at the moon and continued singing.
"Are you ignoring me now?" They stopped again and looked back.
"It's dangerous for you to be out here at this time."
"What?"
They then slid over to the water and before they went fully in, they looked back.
"Stay as long as you'd like. I will make sure you are safe." Then they were gone.
~Next morning~
I looked up and realized the sun was up and shining. Did I really just sleep out here? The ocean seemed to be singing good morning to me as its waves overlapped each other almost playfully.
"Ok. WHEN were you going to tell me about them?!" I groaned at the ocean, making a few people passing by give me a weird look.
"Y'know what? That was a weird dream- I think I'll go back home and just-" I gathered my things and headed home.
At home, I couldn't get that tailed-being out of my mind. What were they? Some type of mermaid? Maybe even... a siren? I mean... sirens have been said to have beautiful voices... and their voice...
"Ugh... what am I thinking?! Sirens aren't real-" I then thought to go back out tonight and see if maybe the mystery tailed-being would be there again.
And I was wrong. They weren't there. But since I was already here, might as well sing. I took out my guitar and played a soft tune before joining in with my own voice. While singing, I noticed the ocean seemed to quiet down as if it were listening. Then, I saw them again.
Their head popped out of the water, their glowing eyes just watching me. But I didn't feel scared or anything. No. They didn't seem to want to hurt me. They were just there. Listening.
(Your POV)
I was watching the human girl because her voice... it was almost at the same level of a sirens! I hadn't ever heard anyone sing so beautifully. I've never been this mesmerized with anyone really...
I'd always been the one to entice people with my voice. But to hear someone else... her voice drew me closer until I was right up close to the shore.
"So, will you tell me your name now? Seeing as how this is our second time meeting?" She spoke up.
This wasn't exactly our second time... at least, not for me. I'd seen her singing before, and only recently did she discover me. I wanted to sing one of the songs I heard her sing earlier that day. It never occurred to me that she might show up that very night.
"Y/N. ... Your voice it's..."
"..?"
"It's mesmerizing... beautiful... where'd you learn to sing like that? Are you also a siren? But with... human legs?" I asked, staring at the girl who chuckled and had a light pink dust her cheeks.
"No I'm just a human. So is that what you are? A siren?"
I simply nodded at her question, looking at her guitar.
"What is that?"
"Oh. This? It's a guitar. Here." She played a little bit on it and my eyes closed peacefully. "You like how it sounds?"
Another nod. She smiled and continued playing, soon closing her eyes as well and enjoying the peace of the evening.
We soon had to depart, but I gave her a present. A shell necklace that I told her would keep her safe. I didn't tell her this part, but the other sirens wanted to meet this human girl they had also heard some days. I don't want her to get hurt...
Humans and sirens never mixed well... although... I think I'll enjoy my continued friendship with this girl... I want to make sure she's protected whenever she comes to the ocean.
There is one thing I know for sure. If our roles were reversed, I would definitely fall for her voice. In fact, I already have.
