"Oh no!" I panicked.

"They know I'm gone!"

Mason looked around.

"There's nowhere we can hide out here." He said

"What are we gonna do?" I asked him.

"I don't know yet."

I thought for a moment.

"I have to go back."

"What! No! You can't." Mason replied, gently grabbing my arms.

"They might kill you this time!"

"Then find a way to get me out like you promised." I told him, as the voice got closer and closer.

He leaned in and touched his forehead to mine as he  pulled me into to his chest.

"Come out come out wherever you are?" the angry voice called out.

"You have to let me go Mason." I pleaded. "It will only make things worse."

I could see the pain in his eyes as he planted a kiss on my forehead before reluctantly letting go of me.

"Well, well, well what have we got here?"

I froze in fear as I saw William walking through the clearing. He smiled and looked back and forth between Mason and me.

"Mason, buddy, nice to see you?" William said, making his way closer to us.

"I wish I could say the same Mahoney." he said coldly.

"Oh come on, I thought we were friends."

"Nope." Mason said, narrowing his eyes.

William stopped beside me "I thought I told you not to go anywhere." He said and grabbed my arm, digging his fingernails into my skin.

"Ow, you're hurting me." I whimpered trying to wiggle my arm away.

"Let her go Will!" Mason said, glaring at him.

"Who's gonna make me?"

"I will." He said.

William looked at Mason for a second, smiling.

"Looks like you got yourself a hero Lily." He chuckled.

He let go of my arm and turned to face him.

"No, William, don't." I begged, as the two boys squared up.

"You really want to do this bud." He sneered.

"I'm not your bud." Mason said, his voice like ice.

"William, please don't." I cried.

Mason looked amused as a smile played on his lips.

"You have no idea who you're messing with." He said coldly.

"Oh I think I do." William scoffed, taking a step closer to him.

"Please, don't do this." I pleaded.

"Shut up!" William screamed and slapped me hard across the face, knocking me down.

I raised my hand to my stinging cheek as I backed away from him.

Mason lunged forward punching William in the nose and knocking him to the ground. He stood up and wiped the blood away.

"Now you've done it." William said angrily as he lunged at Mason.
