13: Seven Years Later

Before I knew it, it had already been seven whole years since the Cell Games took place, and seven years since Kakarot died. Also, seven years since I met Android 18. I am the happiest that I have ever been. Over this time, I had really fallen in love with her, as cliche as it sounds. Hell, we had even gotten married a couple years ago. Vegeta wasn't invited to the wedding, since 18 and I are still upset about him letting Cell absorb her. Even with all the time that's passed, we still haven't forgiven my brother. I'm not sure we ever will. He has spent the last seven years being more pissy than usual. He has been obsessed with training and getting stronger, wanting to prove his superiority. Vegeta tried to fight me several times, but I refused each time. As much as I wanted to beat the shit out of him, I haven't been keeping up with my training. Sure, I still train more than Gohan, who has given up on fighting ever since the Cell Games, but I have had other priorities.

For one, I decided to get a job. Unlike Vegeta, I didn't want to be a freeloader living in Bulma's house, so I got a job to make enough money to get my own house. I would have taken a page out of Piccolo's book and made a house in the middle of nowhere, but 18 and I wanted to live in the city. It's so much more interesting than living in some random wasteland. Unfortunately, due to being a Saiyan I couldn't really get that many jobs, so I've just been flying around the world, competing in fighting tournaments with 18. It's been fun, with the two of us seeing the world together, getting money from winning tournaments.

But although I haven't been training as much as Vegeta, I have been training a lot. After the Cell Games, I focused on obtaining Super Saiyan 2. I decided not to focus on my Golden Great Ape transformation, since gaining control over it seemed like it would take too much time. My tail has grown back, but I've only practiced with the form a couple of times. 18 and Piccolo were there with me every time I did this, just to make sure I didn't accidentally blow up the planet or something. Even with the minimal amount of training I have with the form, I do have slightly better control than when I used it against Cell. I am no longer a mindless monster while using it, though I don't have complete control over it. And it's also way stronger than Super Saiyan 2. Piccolo convinced Gohan to fight me while I was in the form, and I managed to beat him relatively easily.

But even with the power of a Golden Great Ape, I decided against using it for the upcoming tournament. You see, I had recently heard from Kakarot. He said that he was allowed to return to Earth for one day, and that he would be participating in the tournament. Even though I knew that it would be unlikely that I would beat Kakarot or Vegeta without it, I still don't have enough control over the Golden Great Ape power. Also, it's too big, I would surely leave the ring just from the sheer size of it.

And so, I spent the next few days training rigorously, getting my fighting spirit back and hoping for a good fight. 18 even trained with me, knowing that she'd have to get a lot stronger if she wanted to win. After all this time, she has grown much stronger than she was at the time of the Cell Games. Back then, she wasn't even a match for Imperfect Cell. Now, seven years later, she is stronger than Semi-Perfect Cell. She hasn't been training too much, but she has gotten much stronger. We are both ramping up our training, both excited for the tournament. What could possibly go wrong?

Later on, it was the day of the tournament. Almost everyone I knew showed up. They were all looking forward to seeing Kakarot again. Once 18 and I showed up, I was immediately tackled by two small bodies. I looked up, seeing Trunks and Goten

"Auntie Rika!" They both shouted, happy to see me again. Over the last seven years, I had gotten close with both of them, often training both of them in my spare time. I knew that my asshole of a brother wouldn't want to train with Trunks, and Chi Chi wanted Goten to focus on studying, and Gohan was unlikely to train him that well, since he gave up fighting. Over this time, both kids had grown to see me as an Aunt figure.

As their Aunt, I was happy to see them. "Trunks! Goten! Good to see you! Are you ready for the tournament?" After they replied positively, we were all made aware that Kakarot had finally arrived. After greeting his family and friends, he came up to me.

"Hey, Rika! It's been a while! How have you been? Are you still mad at Vegeta? I want to fight your Golden Great Ape form, I ha-" Kakarot was rudely interrupted by Vegeta. "Greetings, Kakarot. I believe you should shift your attention away from my sister. Over the last seven years, she has grown quite soft. I doubt any battle with her will be that entertaining, you should focus on your fight with me."

Of course my brother would try and make me angry. Before I could make a scene, 18 caressed my hand. "Just let it go. He's a whiny baby that just wants attention, the best thing to do is ignore him. You'll get to beat him up during the tournament. He doesn't know how strong you've gotten." 'God, I love this woman...'

After that brief interaction, all the contestants were told that we had to punch a machine that would gauge our strength. Only the 16 strongest fighters would be able to compete in the tournament. All of us agreed to hide our strength and be discreet, seeing as we didn't want to alarm anyone. This plan was immediately thrown out the window when we would lightly tap the machine, getting a score in the 200's. Then Vegeta just didn't care, and he punched the machine, sending it flying. After that, we moved to the stands. We were going to watch the children beat each other up.

'This might be entertaining...'
