The Wrath of a Saiyan

16: Fusion

After a minute, Vegeta's Final Explosion died down, with both Piccolo and I looking on somberly. Piccolo tried to think of something to say to comfort me, but I stopped him. "Piccolo, get Goten and Trunks out of here. I need to make sure Buu's really gone." Piccolo didn't want to leave me alone, clearly worried for his friend. But he reluctantly agreed, flying off.

I then flew down to the crater created by my brother. As I looked around, I saw only tiny pieces of Buu on the ground, not moving at all. 'Is... Is it really over?' I thought to myself. As I continued looking, I found no signs of Vegeta. 

My brother was dead. He had sacrificed himself to atone for his past mistakes, and to save everyone.

I was starting to get angry. Angry that I couldn't do anything and watched my brother die. But before anything could happen, I noticed something terrifying. The pieces of Buu began to move, merging together. 'H-He's alive?!?' I rocketed off before anything else, knowing that I may be Earth's last defense against Majin Buu. 'I'm too injured to fight now, not that I'd do much. But once I'm healed, I'll train in the Time Chamber until I'm strong enough to kill this monster!'

Minutes later, Piccolo and I arrived at the Lookout. There weren't any senzu beans, so I needed Dende to heal me. Luckily, he did, with me silently thinking about Vegeta's sacrifice. As I was doing this, Piccolo filled everyone in on what was happening. Suddenly, Kakarot teleported in with instant transmission. We were all relieved that he was okay, and he too was filled in on the events that transpired.

I turned to him. "Kakarot, are you strong enough to beat Majin Buu?" I asked, desperate to defeat him. "I don't think so," Kakarot began. "Vegeta and I were on par with each other. If he and Gohan were still alive, maybe we could have won, but they're both gone. We could have even fused!"

This got my attention. "Fusion? What are you talking about?" Kakarot began chuckling. "Oh yeah, I forgot to mention it. While I was dead, I learned a bunch of new techniques in Otherworld. One of them is a special dance that can temporarily fuse two people together for thirty minutes. Unfortunately, they have to be of similar height and power, and our heights are too different. Damn, if you and I had fused, Rika, we would have beaten Buu for sure."

"What if you teach this dance to Goten and Trunks?" Piccolo asked. I agreed, "Yeah, those two are pretty strong, their fusion might be able to beat Buu."

For a while, I just tuned everyone out. No one was saying anything too important, and I was thinking of ways to beat Buu. Suddenly, everyone else finally arrived on the Lookout. Bulma and Chi Chi were asking where their families were, and Gohan's girlfriend was looking confused. I walked up to Bulma, knowing I had to be there for her.

"Bulma, Vegeta's... he's gone. He died fighting Majin Buu. We couldn't do anything, I'm sorry." When she heard this, Bulma broke down, crashing into me and sobbing into my chest. As I comforted her, we were all interrupted by the voice of Babidi in our heads.

"Greetings primates! I am the all knowing, all powerful, Babidi, the greatest wizard in all existence! Get ready for a show! I apologize for disturbing your fun, but my fun was also disturbed today. Take a good look at these four!" Suddenly, images of Piccolo, Goten, Trunks, and I appeared in our minds. "These four are the blame for any and all distractions. And this is just a taste of what will happen if they continue to hide." The image changes to a view of Babidi and Majin Buu. Buu shouted, sending everyone flying in the air. Suddenly, Buu shot a beam from his antenna at them, turning everyone into candy. The pieces of candy then flew into Buu's mouth, much to our horror.

Babidi was laughing the whole time. "Now is your time to surrender, or I'll do this to your entire planet! Now since all the people are gone, why don't you clean up." After this instruction, Buu leveled the city with one blow. Once again, images of me, Piccolo, Goten, and Trunks appeared in our minds. "Remember, these are the people that I want. If you have any information, just speak and I'll hear you. I am giving you all a chance to survive by turning in these cowards. You have five days, or this planet will be destroyed." And with that, Babidi left our minds.
